Watched this a couple times yesterday and did my best to actively apply your advice at our tournament tonight. Definitely saw an improvement when I kept the elbow in. Threw my highest ppr to date and my most 4-baggers in a single tournament. Appreciate all the info you send our way.

I'd love to see you do a breakdown of the different pro's grip / throwing mechanics.... Jeremiah Ellis, Trey, etc...

I have a pretty flat bag. One thing that helped me to have it consistent on a regular basis(aside from keeping the elbow in tight) was during my release in the butterfly grip was to follow through a full pendulum motion the whole way. While doing this "motion" I actually incorporate rotating the bag so that when I'm at the very back of my backswing the front of the bag in my hand is facing directly behind me. Then on the follow through I start the rotation of the bag in my hand to have that bag facing forward to my target. This accomplishes a few things: 1) it's a delivery that becomes repeatable once learned, taking the guess work out. 2) it allows for bag rotation while in flight(which is a under rated mechanic not often talked about) allowing you to "get around" bags because you have that spin to bully and ride your bag into the hole. 3) its a "slower" way of utilizing your wrist movement to achieve the palm out, keeping you more relaxed on every throw I find. (As opposed to having the bag facing your hip during your motion) The negative thing is, it takes a bit to get the feel for it at first(it feels weird turning that bag to face backwards during your motion). If your throw gets lazy at times you may also make contact with your side during your follow through. Just something that works for me at least, everyone's throw is a little different. Thanks for the videos Mike!

The videos about the flat bag were already very helpful. What I'm also interested in are the different strategies on how to deal with certain situations. For example, you start with a block, your opponent throws a reblock, what would be the most promising throw for your 2nd or 3rd bag

This is a very simple concept and I will be sure to give it a try my next practice session, if it ever stops raining in SC

Thank you for pointing that out. When you said it it was like a lightbulb. Coming from pitching shoes for years. The turn has an unconscious turn of the hand in follow thru. Got some adjustments to make

I throw left and right handed and get better spin and more flat with my right hand. I've always been a lefty for most things, but I learned to throw a frisbee and underhanded with my right, so why I throw with both hands. I feel it gives me an edge when standing on either side of the board. I can always have either my left or right closest to the board.

These videos you’ve been doing have been a great addition to your usual content of bag reviews - keep it up! My biggest problem easily is that I always scrape my front leg with the bag when I throw. I step in my throw, I’ve tried not to or to switch which leg is forward but it’s not comfortable. So my throw feels good, but I have to power through hitting my leg or catching my shorts/pants on the front swing. It alters the trajectory of my bags and can screw with my release if I’m not very intentional every throw. Best I can do is just try to slightly bring my arm away from my side when swinging, but not perfect. Getting a more secure grip on the bag also slightly helps. Don’t know if there’s a fix besides just throw better 😂

I have the same exact problem and I can't figure out anyway to not hit my leg besides bringing my arm out but then I lose all my accuracy

Hi Mike, my biggest problem is grip I tend to lose the bag as I am following through my through and I constantly front board a lot of my shots, could you possibly release a video on proper grip and wrist rotation, thanks your videos are very helpful

What I notice and what is never talked about, is your backswing - notice how Mike rotates the bag backwards in hand at the apex of the backswing, and then the hand rotates forward in the release. I would really appreciate someone talking about this, reaching and rotating backwards generates more spin I think which also flattens the bag.

Thanks so much Mike. I struggle with something very different. I have a very difficult time, coming from a golfing background, of not breaking my wrist and throwing the bag nose down. Would love your thoughts on how to break this habit. I have tried many things with limited success.

Mike, thank you for that video. My issue is hitting my leg when I am coming through, trying to keep my elbow and hand close to by body in order to have a straight throw. Can you do a video on that?

My problem is having to throw around all my fat. The only solution i have for that is leaning like you would in bowling but that takes away accuracy and isn't easy to hold that position because of being so heavy.

This is the type of stuff I need to work on, the chicken wing is real with me. I guess when I’m shooting my best my elbow is straight. Whats the easiest way to start to fix the mechanics? Start with boards close or normal distance?

I throw a 100% flat bag but only with butterfly grip. Doesn't feel very natural yet working on it.

My main issue is that when I throw a flat bag, 95% of the time it always breaks from left to right as I am a right hand shooter. When I think it is going into the hole, the last 2nd it cuts hard and I miss to the right. If I play with a faster bag, like an 8 or 9 this won't happen of course. This is also when I am shooting on the Inside. Now on the outside same shot but boy a WAY different reaction. For the life of me I can not shoot a straight bag on the outside. If I aim at the hole and hit the center of the board, it cuts to the left..If I hit a tad higher it will go in..Little more and I miss to the right! Because I can shoot a fairly straight shot on he inside, when I am on the outside shooting across, there are times I miss the board completely on the right cause I let go to late or shot the bag straight. Also when I am on the inside, I find I shoot off to the right instead of straight..and a Softball picture told me that I am swinging my arm out when I am shooting instead of keeping it straight and not sure if there is a drill to fix this... Last, have you or anyone get Cornhole Elbow? aka Tennis Elbow? I find it I play a ton and focus on the twist of my arm to get that flat bag, I am petty sore the next day at times I can't lift something a little heavy with my throwing hand straight up from off the ground. A fix or exercise to help with this?
