I like the "real user tests" - it's the kinda stuff a real user wants to know. We often go in a café or a restaurant with a group of 4-8 of us to charge over lunch, and the challenge is moving through the restaurant and finding a place for all the wheels and our gear.

This video is sooo good! The agility test and braking test is really good idea! In motorcycle school they have a similar course except there’s a left and a right option. When the rider enters the first gate, the instructor will randomly direct the rider to take the left or right path. The ICBC skills test is all cones as well. In true micro-mobility fashion, I think featuring public transit and accessibility at the mall or grocery store would be interesting. Food delivery to the service center :)

I like the new format for the wheel reviews! I hope we still get some of the original style videos mixed in as well - because I really enjoyed the banter and the metric to imperial conversion edits that were in the early videos. It was uniquely Eevee's and I'd hate to see it disappear completely. As for the V13...I can't wait to see what aspects of it carry through to the 16" suspension that IM has in the works. This format is great! My favourite is the goose test. It is nice to see you demonstrating how the V13 handles in everyday situations. It looks like you went from 0 to 70 km/h in about 13 seconds, though I don't think you were trying to accelerate as fast as possible. Not every test needs to be quantified. The commentary while you are lugging it up stairs or riding through dirt trails is very informative. I do have one suggestion for the hill climb test, however. Have Lukas ride the wheel up Tolmie street with a full battery at a constant speed of, say, 30 km/h, 40 km/h, and 50 km/h, and report the maximum PWM vale (Darkness Bot) or minimum safety margin (EUC World) attained during each part of the test. This gives us a sense of how lard the motor is working and a means of comparing this to other wheels. Good job guys and keep the great content rolling!
@eevees Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching as always Justin! We wanted to get that Darkness Bot stats but unfortunately it wouldn't connect to the V13 but I do think it's a good idea to do the hill climb going various speeds. We'll keep 'em improving and coming for ya

@Duf Жыл бұрын
Production value is leveled up a bunch for sure. The only thing I would say is if you want to standardize the tests the range test should be more controlled, going at more or less a steady speed over an identical course. Of course you can't control the temperature but obviously with where you live that can greatly affect your numbers. Thanks for all the work guys.
@eevees Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching Duf! I've always enjoyed your videos. My argument about having a steady speed vs how I would normally ride said wheel is it's not real-world range. What I mean by that if we review a wheel like the T4 that can only go 32mph, it would mean we would have to slow the speed down on wheels like the V13 and EX30. So we wanted to do our range test for each wheel based on how someone would ride it. That means pushing the speed higher on wheels that can go faster. We're trying to come up with a new way of showcasing range (ie. ~50mi for the V13) based on how most people would ride the wheel. Manufacturer's range is a joke so something that's more honest is what we're trying to do. Our new website is going through some major updates and we'll be changing the way we sell these things so people aren't up when they can't go 160km on their V13 haha.
@Duf Жыл бұрын
@@eevees Yep I get that, I know with Darkness bot you can capture your overall average speed for a ride which may be cool to include, I don't think you can do that with the IM app though? I guess my point is with your new format with standardized testing, which I think is great, not using some sort of standard when it comes to range testing, which is very important for many riders, might be not ideal.
@eevees Жыл бұрын
@@Duf Having an average speed would definitely help. I need to find a more accurate GPS app and it would be good to not count stops at lights or stop signs into the average speed. Do you happen to know of any?

What I miss in pretty much all hill tests on all EUC channels is tackling hills at speed. Knowing an EUC can do 40 degrees… cool, but how often do you practically need to? Knowing an EUC doesn’t heat up much or at all going up Vancouver’s steepest street… nice, but how often is overheating an issue on newer wheels? What I want to know is at what speed can the wheel comfortably and consistently drive up that hill bottom to top? If I have a daily commute with a long steep hill, will the EUC slow down to half speed and continuously beep at you, or can you just continue cruising to work/home? Something like that can considerably affect your travel time! In any case, nice beard, Lukas! 🙌🏼
@eevees Жыл бұрын
Hey Joachim, these new wheels like the V13 and EX30 can easily tackle hills at speed. It's actually harder on the motor/controller to ride up steel hills as slowly as possible. We could easily ride up both hills going quite fast. You can continue to accelerate as you go up the hills. It might be good to show how fast we can get going up these hills but it's definitely easier on the motor to tackle hills fast vs slow.

You guys are becoming one of my favorite EUC channels. I thought the tests were well done and very well explained by being for the average rider and not for the clicks! Stopping power was finally tested where it’s actually understandable concept for everyone. An EUC stopping ability will greatly depend upon motor power and paired firmware, rider weight and riding ability. I will point out that even with bugs the screen display and app IMO are heads above anyone else’s. Hope you guys are able to next review the Master pro since it’s in the same weight class, then work down on all the newest wheels. Then go back over on previous years 😁. Oh last advice is I would let the opening B roll run for double the time length! Helps to build up the excitement, beside being well done! Keep it up guys! The V13 is definitely a niche wheel that is well worth it. Like in most industries, a great company will bring out their top product with all their newest features and capabilities. While not being for everyone, it is a showcase of what direction they are going what will trickle down into their lower price point models. Exciting times for InMotion. Also I’m sure it might already be thought of, but someone needs tell InMotion to consider enlarging, adding and evenly distancing the motor bolt holes for future batches. Nothing wrong with over engineering it to never be an issue again.

I've been riding since Christmas and learnt on an S22 - I cheated, coming from riding off road on 'sweat powered' unicycle but it really did take only 5 minutes before I could ride around. A month ago I rode up and down the worlds steepest street. It was really much easier than I expected! Loving it on all the MTB trails around here. It's been a while since I visited Vancouver. Thanks! A lot of this was our new videographer's idea. @Hotorel came up with some awesome tests including the brake and goose test. It definitely helps to learn how to ride an EUC coming from a classic unicycle. Those are hard to ride!! We hope to see you next time you're on the west coast. Cheers!

Nice job, guys! Thanks also for giving your stats in miles & mph for us statesiders. Because I wasn't sitting with pen & paper in-hand, I wasn't able to mull over your comparative findings. So either I rewatch and take physical notes or, OR, perhaps you could graph the stats side-by-side (for light brightness, "Goose" tests, braking, hill climbing, et al, whereby I (we) could periodically pause to compare/contrast each wheels benefits. My first wheel (the Challenger) is on the way - which me luck! I'll be tuning in for further tips. Thanks!

That was an excellent light test. No comparison really, 3 metre spread and pedestrian friendly is quite amazing. I can't wait until I can upgrade from my v12ht.

Great video! Very fun and entertaining. I just got a little anxious because I'm a beginner and I just bought one here in Mexico (also because it's the only brand that has official support over here) but oh well, I don't have many other options. Still super excited, thanks for the video 🙌

Liking the new style: some feedback - cut cut cut. All the fluff and waffle cut it RIGHT down, be brutal. This should be 10-15 minutes of super useful stuff. The Goose test with a street tyre will be SIGNIFICANTLY easier as well. Nice one!

Great review. Love the vids. Bought a SS because of your review. I'd ike to know the approx percentage of folks ,like me, who don't have an opportunity to ride, or even touch, a wheel before we commit our faith and funds to these crazy things.

An interesting but not EUC related video would be if you went over the process of starting a business. The experience of (presumably) being first time business owners, warranty impact on profits (assuming your salaries are pretty low), how your customer experience has been in general, etc.

Great video. Loved the "chapter" style. Learned a lot without having to watch every minute. Appreciated the content, the guys choice of what to talk about, and how to test and demonstrate V13's characteristics. The wheel? I'd love for my first purchase to be as well built, easy to disassemble for repairs, and apparently a top tier performer. But it's a beast! If I can't lift it, fit it in the trunk, etc... it's not my road trip adventure buddy - which is a major thing in my imagined use-case. (Do they sell product specific ramps?), But yes, imagined. Like I said, I'm shopping for my first wheel, the one I can enjoy wherever I road trip. So, great wheel, but not my wheel. Overall, totally great video for style and content. Thank you!

Hey Bradley and Lukas! Love the new video format. I had a few constructive comments & comments I wanted to make since you asked at the end :) I'm currently in the market for upgrading to a bigger EUC for my daily commute so I'm going to ask some questions that some others might be wondering as well. 1. For all of your tests, could you try bringing out a popular competitor to compare some numbers to in the same video? (e.g. Sherman S vs. V13? Both are reliable and great commuter wheels.) 2. For the frunk test, could you do a trunk test? I'm genuinely curious if the V13 could fit into a regular sized sedan 3. Thank you for doing a proper headlight test with a light meter. If you could, can you create a video comparing the light spread between the EUCs? since you have the setup at your storefront with all the EUCs, It would bring tremendous value to the EUC community looking for a proper light on an EUC. 4. Thank you for doing a proper range test with a consistent route. You bring up a good point on the V13. You mentioned that not many other EUCs can travel that fast at 20% battery. Which other EUCs can do that? I really hope you can do a similar review of the Sherman S and bring in S22 pro as a comparison! I've been wondering if the S22 pro is enough EUC for me as a commuter or if the Sherman S is worth the extra dollars. Keep up the great work you guys! Your video production crew really bumped up your channel to the next level. Wish you guys could open a storefront out here in Toronto, ON.

Thanks for watching and for all your feedback. Being the first video, there's not much to compare it to but with every wheel we add to this review format, we will have a chart comparing the results with the other wheels we've reviewed. Every wheel will fit in a trunk with no issues (other than lifting it up) We will definitely do one for the Sherman S and S22 Pro. We hope to do one of these reviews for every flagship wheel that we sell. We hope to expand to the east coast soon!

I LOVE THIS!! Thank you! Very impressed with what you have done here. The way you have compared the V13 to other wheels known to excel in that particular category was very impressive! There's 1 thing that I wish you had compaired...and that's the IP rating. Idk if there is another EUC that comes close to the IP rating of the V13. All in all.....I applaud your efforts and your honesty! You have given me a whole new respect for your company as a whole! You have set the bar for all other EUC companies! I will DEFINITELY be purchasing from you in the future! (Liked and subscribed)
@eevees Жыл бұрын
Thanks Byron! I appreciate you taking the time to leave your feedback. It would be tough to test the IP rating and risk destroying a brand new wheel (not the V13 but I'm thinking other wheels that aren't as water-tight). We do go over the seals and water rating a bit in our teardown videos so if you haven't seen our V13 teardown video, I highly recommend checking it out. Thanks again for the feedback and we look forward to serving you as a customer in the future. Cheers!!
@tanknd804 Жыл бұрын
@eevees Oh nooo.....I wouldn't risk ruining a wheel with a water test. I was asking to compare the V13's IP rating with the KNOWN IP rating of a similar wheel. (if there is other wheels with IP ratings)
@lukastanasiuk5722 Жыл бұрын
@@tanknd804 First off, thank you SO much for the amazing comment. So encouraging and just overall awesome to hear this ::) The problem with IP ratings is that the actual IP certification is VERY expensive to get, like $500,000+ and so a lot of these companies simply just claim an IP rating or don't claim them at all, even though they might pass an IP55 test easily. Real world, long term testing is the only way to truly quantify ingress protection on these things most times. But I do agree we should covert that more in subsequent videos :) Thanks again!
