I’ve always loved Zack Bush. Still do. However I must weigh in here. I was vegetarian for decades. I ended up with lots of problems from oxalate and Phytates etc. Could barely move my fingers elbows an shoulders my search led Me to carnivore diet. In only 4 months. All joint pain gone and fingers not sticking bent over! Also. My receding gums grew back and healed. Also no longer need reading glasses (at 68 yrs old). Brown spots on hands faded away. I have more energy and My weight has normalized. I was very careful about My food choices as a veg person. Didn’t over eat starches etc. It took a Lot to change to meat eater. But I feel the best I have in 50 years! What gives here. I’m also a very spiritual person and that remained even though I changed my diet to Carnivore

I had a similar experience. My body is so much happier when I started eating good quality grass fed meat a few times per week. If I skip red meat for more than a couple of days, I get sluggish and depressed. I really noticed an energy shift when I added a third of an ounce of raw organic grass fed beef liver to my smoothie. For me, I suspect it has more to do with the retinol and fats, than the protein.

If it works for you, then do what you need to do. Just realize that it could be particular species of bacteria in your digestive tract that cause negative reactions due to the chemical composition, fiber, sugars in plants that these bad bacteria feed upon. When you don't eliminate them, then plant matter will proliferate the bad bacteria that feeds on it, whereas eating meat won't provide an ample food source for those bacteria. The fact is, dead, cooked meat is also denatured via the cooking process. That's why no one's ever seen lions cooking on a grill. Humans are not like lions, tigers or other carnivores but rather nearly identical to primates - gorillas, chimps, apes, etc who are primarily plant eaters. If there is a negative reaction to plants, then it's not a plant issue but rather a biological, anatomical, physiological, biome issue inside of the individual. Oxalates are a mechanism for keeping insects off of plants but there aren't enough to compromise healthy people. Those with compromised immunity, gut flora, etc will be more susceptible to negative side-effects. Long-term carnivore results n acidosis when the body must leach minerals to maintain base alkalinity/homeostasis of 7.36-.7.40. Food is supposed to be the alkalizer not the body but for survival purposes. Also remember that no meat, fish, chicken, etc has fiber to engage peristalsis. Only plants contain fiber for this essential process. Again, if the diet helps, then by all means do what you must. Just beware of long-term effects and adjust to at least some fruits, melons, berries, etc to reduce acidosis. Glad you're well and take care. 😊

lol I remember as a kid growing up in the 60s in Holland, we had meat but not lots of it. Had a piece of chicken on a Sunday, had horse steak on a saturday and meatballs/ beef weekdays as that was cheap. Having a paper cone with chips from the local chippie was a treat. Candy hardly existed there was a very limited choice. Same with crisps. We were active all day long, we didn't have mobiles or laptops or internet. You met people and you communicated in person or over the telephone. Life was a lot simpler for sure. I pity these generations now growing up with all the crap around us. And no one bothered about proteines or vitamines. Yet we were all healthy and slim and the veg had nutrients in them. Even the bread had nutrients compared to today :)

With a wrecked digestive system and leaky gut, an intolerance to gluten and dairy, I switched to a plant based diet. And every time I ate I would get bloated, constipated, way too much mucus production and joints painfully inflamed. And a part of my decision to go plant based was the spiritual belief that it was a higher consciousness to not eat animals. And my health continued to go downhill. I switched to Keto and intermittent fasting and have never felt better. Inflammation gone, bloating gone. I don't eat a huge amount of meat and stick to organic beef and oily fish. Occasionally I will eat something processed or grains or potatoes then regret that decision for the next couple of days when the sugars kick in. I get where you are coming from and I wish the food chain was better, but it's not the meat that's the issue, it's the health of the food chain overall.

@@murraypooley9199 yes, the balance you describe works for me. Although I am possibly a bit higher on protein at the moment. I know that Zach Bush believes in vegan permaculture rather than processed food, and I would love to see us return to that in the future. Very interesting that the farmers were told back in the 1950s that organic permacultures and crop rotation wouldn't grow enough food...and they would need fertiliser...made by Monsanto...who were big funders of the farming industry... (follow the money, every time 🤭) And now that the soil is destroyed they want to reverse all the changes they made, whilst getting rid of the cows and feeding us bugs when the food supplies run out. Right. Really. I fell for the seed oils for a while too. I have been vegan for 35 years and healthily and happily so. There is always so much out there about different diets, and I make sure I listen to all kinds of stuff - carnivore, paleo, vegan, etc. It was never my intention to be dogmatically vegan, I just wanted to be healthy. However, I support everyone's right to eat for their own bodies, what works for them, because we are all different. The amount of talk around protein I've heard lately on podcasts is almost entirely around how unhealthy it is to be vegan, that we are not getting enough protein, etc. It has definitely made me question my choices, but my body does not want animal protein, and I check in regularly! This video helps explain why I feel good and healthy and strong on my vegan diet. I eat a lot of nuts, seeds, beans and veggies, and I will keep listening to people I respect, even those who think vegan is the wrong diet. Vegan is not wrong for me personally, but I'm going to keep my mind open to knowledge and information, especially from my own body. Since Zach Bush is one of the doctors and humans I trust most these days, I am grateful for his take on all of this. Thank you!

I decided to go vegan after years of being a wishy washy vegetarian and was consuming mega diary and eggs to compensate for not eating meat (occasionally eating fish - but stopped eating that too)...and my son responded "Mom, make sure you get enough protein." It's a mantra from as soon as a child stops breast feeding or bottle feeding. I was looking in the back of Dean Ornish's book "How to Reverse Heart Disease" (I bought it because my dad died of a heart attack, although I haven't any heart issues) and found protein and other criteria on each of the foods listed. I was surprised to see that even an apple has protein! I'm glad to be listening to this medical expert and learn more of what I need to know.

A woman's breast milk contains on average 7% lactose, 4% fat and only 1% protein. The rest is water. This is the nutritional macronutrient profile of a human infants diet! And they grow rapidly and healthily on this composition. Our diets should closely resemble this ratio, I'm thinking. 🙂

If your baby weighs 4kg that means they receive at least 5g of protein=1,25g/kg of bodyweight per day of highly digestible protein with a full and plentiful spectrum of amino acids. This is way higher than Zach Bush' propose 20-40g of protein per day for an adult.

Always enjoy some Dr. Bush. As someone who recently learned in nutrition school the value of protein rich animal meats, particularly organ meats, and how they can fit into a healthy diet and a healthy planet through regenerative farming, I am coming from the opposite side on this one. However, I believe it is always important to challenge your beliefs especially in the ever evolving, ever individualized space that is nutrition. Anything less is unscientific. I also recently heard Gabriel Lyons on Health Theory extolling the benefits of including MORE protein in the diet. I would love to see a civilized debate or someone critically analyzing these to diametrically opposed paradigms to find what interesting gems lie beneath. There is so much yet to be learned in nutrition, we are infants. However, the dogma wars are killing the open dialogue necessary for such progress to happen. We need more people willing to cross the isle, look skeptically at their own beliefs, and consider the data supporting other approaches. Bravo Zach, well done as always.

As a weight trainer of 47-years who has lived the protein paradigm of old, I can confirm Dr. Bush is 100% correct. Too much protein is toxic, inflammatory, acidifying and dangerous to human biome, biology, anatomy, physiology, etc. I suffered the fallout from years of consuming too much protein. Carnivores must be made aware that it is not a consumption of dead, cooked, denatured animal flesh that has led them to better health but rather a recession of former dietary habits that led them to better health. People opt from one dietary habit to another then attribute an improvement in health to subsequent dietary habits when the fact is their health had already begun to improve as soon as they stopped consuming the foods that made them sick prior. The best option are living, raw, enzymatic, fiber-rich, nutrient-dense foods that nature provides us. Even the animals that carnivores consume eat these foods to keep them healthy, strong and nourished. If anything, omnivore is best. Stay balanced for optimal health.

Come on Zach, cows and horses have a totally different digestive systems designed to eat grass and extract the nutrients from it. They have several stomachs or something along those lines. But from their teeth and mouth and to their colons they are DESIGNED to eat grass. Humans are designed to be omnivores it’s clear. Dogs and cats do best on mostly meat, animal fats and bone. Dogs can swallow whole chunks of bone and meat and their digestive systems love that. Wolves often eat the stomachs and intestines of their pray with its predigested plant material and micro biome. So to compare humans to cows or horses with muscle mass as if humans could attain that from eating grass is ludicrous.

So your bloating and flatulence was due to only having a micro minor that is used to heavy fats (Animal Proteins) and little fiber. To help the digestive system it should be done in steps not all at once. All plants have protein, to build muscle it’s the amino acids that are needed. There is a lot of literature around this topic. I started to crave meat and dairy after a few months of veganism. Now on keto I am getting really strong muscles and have good energy and good stools. I discovered that my gut and microbiome do not like unsoluble fiber, gluten, lectins, oxalates and fructose. I do get fiber, from sweat potato, avocado, zuchini (pealed and deseeded), macadamia nuts. My gut and microbiome prefer soluble fiber. Eating meat is natural, we are hunters, not herbivores. Meat and dairy have all the protein we need. Plants do not. When eating vegan you have to combine different plants to get all the essential amino acids. And omega 3 from plants, ALA, has to be converted in the body to DHA and EPA. It's a difficult not very succesful process. Omega 3 from animal food, DHA and EPA, is available for the body right away.

Your workout probably incites mTor, which activates muscle synthesis. I wish the carnivores and vegans would each come together to explain how it all works. Not sure I'm buying the long digestion process being bad. Maybe it's the 3 meals a day that are bad, if consuming animal products. Obviously, we have evolved to handle eating other animals. Chimps do, too... As a 68 year old woman (ruined by oxalate toxicity during years of vegetarianism), I would really love to know the truth. I will likely never do 100 push ups in the morning, or ever! My wrists are also ruined from 45 years at a repetitive motion job causing carpal tunnel syndrome and other hand issues. I can do other workouts, and do. Maybe not as specifically regimented as yours. But most of the world's people, although active, may not be doing rigorous muscle building workouts. Especially as we age into 60s, 70s, 80s, etc.

I have been on a carnivore diet for 6 months now. I feel so much better than I did on a vegetarian diet for many years. Also, all my lab markers are far better than they were in my vegetarian years. The bioavailability of nutrients are far superior in meat than they are in plant-based protein. I never knew I could feel so healthy and satiated by the food that I eat. My body does not do well with the carbs and sugars on a plant-based diet. I used to struggle with food (particularly carb) addiction patterns that I tried to control for decades. Now on a carnivore diet I have such freedom from food addiction. This diet is amazingly satiating and fulfilling. It is certainly not just amino acids that you get from meat. There are so many other essential nutrients that are very difficult if not completely unavailable from plant-based proteins. It is my experience that my digestive system is much happier on my meat diet than it was on the plant diet. I have contact with many people with serious digestive problems eating mostly plants - leaky gut, in my experience, is much more likely to be a plant-based problem. You may like the word "putrefaction" however I will use the word, "fermentation" which I believe our particular human digestive system is beautifully designed to use (along with the level of stomach acid) to smoothly digest a predominately meat-based diet. Very interesting that you relate our increase in food sensitivities and auto immune diseases to eating meat. Everyone that I know that has switched from a plant-based diet to a carnivore diet has literally eliminated all their food sensitivities and auto immune problems. I experience that much of what you say is exactly opposite. For instance, talking about using a traditional diet, would have to lead you directly back to our hunter-gather origins. They predominately used meat. There is absolutely no credible science that proves that eating meat causes cancer or kidney disease. I think you do your audience a great disservice by making these sweeping claims with out credible science to back them up. Are you saying that we should follow our current governments dietary recommendations for protein?! You, being the one who is clear about how we have been misled about cholesterol, statins, and coronary artery disease, which by the way, I agree with you entirely on this subject. All that agricultural technology you speak of as producing corn for feed-lot animals is much harder on the life of our soil and the ecosystem of our planet when growing plants and grains in the monoculture system to provide for a plant-based diet rather than the beautiful biodiversity and healthy soil that is produced from regenerative grazing of ruminant animals "Grass Loves to be Grazed"!! I feel exactly as you said that we are a miracle of creation, being totally designed to be consumers of meat. We can choose to align with nature and regenerate our earth by doing away with the destructive monocultural agricultural practices and learn to love our bodies by giving them them the type of nutrition they are desperately asking for.

It all comes together in the end when you shared you changed your spiritual world view of yourself as "spiritual cognisance of nature within you". The mistake that most people make when they try to sustain themselves on plant based diet is that they do not embody this perspective and thus their body isn't able to generate enough light requiring additional source of energy - animal based to sustain them. My perspective is not science based but rather intuitive understanding that if we move towards being sustained by nature we would need to embody a more spiritual perspective moving into 5th dimensional frequencies rather than living in 3d.

Will Grant- believe what your body is telling you! I've been thru basically the same journey as some commenting here - went the raw vegan route - I think I THOUGHT I should feel great, so I guess I convinced myself I was better off as vegan. I bought that whole spiel about 'there's plenty protein in plants, and your body will put it all together and manufacture the protein you need to help maintain muscle mass & bone health." I am now convinced that story about plant protein may be 'true-ish' in theory, but - nope - it did not play out for me. Though, I believe vegan/vegetarian can work for younger people who happen to have their youth hormones to help maintain muscle mass & bone health. But, imo, for older folks, it's a disaster. (was for me, at least). After 5 years as... first - raw vegan; then vegan; then vegetarian; then pescatarian - then Hell-With-It(!)...back to omnivore! But this time high protein. And, yes, that's animal protein. I have finally regaind a healthy body composition again. I eventually realized, after 5 yrs as primarily vegetarian, I was insidiously losing muscle mass. I looked nice & thin (always have, basically), but this time I was definitely 'skinny fat'. I was getting sick - frequent colds, and flu events (unusual compared to my health history). Also, my energy level was suffering, and I developed some depression. I finally woke up that my vegetarian diet was sending me down the path to sarcopenia. And it was not at all from lack of exercise. I have always exercised - strength training & cardio. But what I lacked was sufficient protein! Animal protein! I started to feel better as soon as I focused on adding in animal protein. My strength training & cardio was finally paying off with added protein...high protein intake - but I still eat alot of green vegetables because I love them. I finally have a silouette with some curves, rather than stick straight. Feel lots stronger & healthier, with the increased energy to really get after the strength training & cardio I love ❤️ without feeling like I'm running myself into the ground.

That was interesting. But I’ve been a vegan and a vegetarian for 2 years of my life and I was at my worst. It wasn’t until I found a guy named Dr. Eric Berg and d started following a healthy ketogenic diet and eat once or twice a day. And I’ve never felt better and it’s been 4 years now. I agree completely about overconsumption and how corrupt agriculture has become. And part of the reason I went Vegan in the first place was because of spirituality and love and concern for the earth. But I don’t think eliminating all animal products from your diet is the answer. And I get tired of the judgements around people who do eat meat or fish that somehow they’re lacking Concsiousness or spiritual awareness. It’s simply not true. I think different people require different things. And some people do well on vegan diets and others don’t. And part of having a healthy body is to stop eating constantly we’re not meant to eat every 3 hours of our life. It’s about paying attention to the needs of your body. If I started eating beans, lentils and grains and potatoes I’d blow up and I’d constantly be hungry. It’s a horrible way to live , I’ve been there and done it. There definitely needs to be a regenerative agriculture push and elimination of the standard American diet and a stop to corporate farming and processed foods. But I don’t think making the entire planet vegan is the way to go.

@theartofbellydance
@theartofbellydance Жыл бұрын
Why not just reduce the amount of animal protein you eat? You don't have to be vegan. As he said, these diets (keto and vegan alike) are just fads. It takes a lot of knowledge to eat a healthy vegan diet and most people just don't have the awareness of nutrition to do it right. Americans have the most perturbed microbiomes in the world. The most likely reason you cannot eat 'healthy' foods is that your microbiome is depleted. Americans have literally lost the bacteria that digest plant fibers. There are ways to heal but it takes a lot of know-how. Keto is just a band-aid - it is like an antibiotic and that is why it makes many people feel better. But Dr. Berg won't tell you this. I PROMISE you, he is getting THICK kickbacks from the meat and dairy lobbies. I promise you he is only telling you part of the story.

This video was incredibly eye-opening and made a lot of sense. I recently switched from a high-carb diet to a ketogenic diet, and I have noticed tremendous benefits with inflammation, energy levels, and holistic mental, physical, emotional, and even spiritual performance. I'm always searching to experiment and learn new things to push past any plateaus, so this has been a great video to bring more knowledge and awareness. I recognize that human beings are incredibly resilient and designed for anti-fragility and syntropic when the seasons of life are honored. Protean consumption is far too great in mainstream diets. It's also the combination as well as the ratios of these macronutrients that can cause problems in the microbiome. I've moved away from overeating meat proteins, and my diet has been slowly evolving, trying different things. Cheese or dairy hasn't worked for me as I'm lactose intolerant, but I recently discovered heavy cream, which has zero protein and zero grams of carbs. I've found it to be an excellent source of fat(going raw, organic, non-GMO); combining it with cod liver and cod liver oil, an incredible array of vegetables(vast amounts of mushrooms and seaweed are my favorite), and eggs are a superfood in its own right, has a quick digestive transit time too). I noticed the recommendations for nuts, seeds, and grains. My research has found that they all contain phytic acid and have high levels of oxalates, which can disrupt the bioavailability of minerals, electrolytes, and nutrients. I've also noticed that when I eat those items mentioned above, I get tired, and I also have seen a dip in my performance(I barefoot run, train martial arts, and train with HIIT protocols). When I attempted Keto several years ago, I fell into the marketing trap with "Keto friendly" snacks and recipes that relied on all kinds of processed junk and artificial sweeteners + consumed WAY too much meat proteins. This time, I honored the ratios of fats to proteins to carbs and feel incredible. I also spend several hours a day training outdoors, barefoot, on the shore, where I'm getting optimized grounding and solar energy, which helps signal positive epigenetic upregulation. I foresee more experimentation with a plant-based approach to nutrition. Still, I've also come to recognize that dogmatic "diets" subconsciously may be limiting the true potential of our human genome's ability to adapt to our environment and survive and thrive off of many different paths of managing energy levels and performance. I'm curious and open to any discussion on this topic. Is phytic acid and oxalates not an issue with grains, nuts/seeds? Thank you for this incredible video! I first discovered Dr. Zach Bush from his video on Afterskool on chemical farming and its effects on autism. I highly recommend books from Dr. Tomas Cowan on the subject of vaccines, autoimmunity, water, and cancer. Great stuff.

Some non-essential amino acid precursors are indeed produced using intermediary compounds formed in the citric acid cycle. But no essential amino acids are formed there; that's why they're called "essential" and why humans must consume adequate amounts of external protein regularly. The statement that the citric acid cycle produces the proteins the body needs "from sugar" is extremely simplistic and ridiculous, with no basis in science. It is true that many Americans overconsume protein, but the recommendations presented here would create the opposite problem: starvation-level protein deficiencies. Best course: Don't take advice from zealots. Moderation is key.

So what we eat and absorb is altered, broken down, synthesized, assembled, and discarded but human and non human cells. The proteins in our body are synthesized and assembled from more basic more simple ingredients rather than directly from food. This would not happen if the citric acid cycle stopped. Animal based food can be eliminated with regard go making protein. Dietary diversity is necessary and normative diets are studied in many different places. Many people are extremely and or chronically and acutely our of balance and healthful population normative balance would help many. It isnt exclusive from suiting it in some basic simple ways to the individual. So what was your point? What are you pushing?

Protein is not the only nutrition in animal products either. DHA is essential for the brain and cell membranes and the body uses inferior fatty acids that dont conduct electrically/energetically when deficient. Its an enormous problem when studied in the research and leaving this out of this presentation that seems to be going for 'synthesis' is just inadequate in my opinion. Vascular disease is responsible for more deaths than everything else, including Kidney diseases by a vast margin. Im confused by this incomplete argument..

@@l.sophia2803 That something is used by the body doesn't mean a pure supplement will be safe effective or needed. It's still not a slam dunk that people should take Omega 3 SUPPLEMENTS nor is the amount route and frequency for each age group certain enough. And in men at risk of prostate cancer some may want to avoid THOSE supplements. Simply, controversy exists. Using and abusing the food chain for this type of supplement doesn't seem warranted or fair. Algal based ones that are tested for purity and active ingredient properly and routinely by valid labs is necessary but very unlikely that info can be had or had accurately with far too many products in this largely under regulated market. Quality control? Get what you paid for? Solid science? Risk, cost and time analysis ? Is one's diet and activity optimized for the individual? Interaction with other chemicals meds vits etc? Disease supplement contraindications? And really what statistical and clinical difference would a supplement make in that individual at the dosage started at that time and for that duration? Chances are, as we see with too many prescriptions the actual benefit risk analysis is quite underwhelming on benefits and overwhelming on down sides including cost benefit to people and life on Earth. Much of what is made and what leaves the body when it comes to what people's take in their body remains biologically active. Billions of people's waste impacts health to nature including other people. Rain water soil air is or becomes too polluted and often without good enough reasons. @@Madasin_Paine I absolutely agree and find your thinking is holistic and that’s essential to undoing all this damage the environment and it’s creatures are suffering. I mentioned supplements not because I’m advocating but more as a part of the arguments vegans make now.. that while B12 and DHA can be supplemented and don’t need to be eaten in animal products anymore, it’s obvious that if these are essential to human health, which they obviously are, and animal products are the only place to find them in adequate amounts, that it can not possibly follow that we are naturally vegans! So why the oversimplification from someone as intelligent and well meaning as Dr Bush? I find this a challenge in challenging times, when a thought leader isn’t thinking clearly or simply fails to state the challenges they should recognize to their own arguments as if the agenda is the most important thing. People will hear this talk and without deeper learning will hear him say that ‘sugar’ is the best answer. It’s disappointing to say the least..

Audrey Byrnes - I'll look that up (Gonzales). I have come to believe this 'one diet fits all' (especially the vegan thing [ugh], based on my own experience) is dead wrong. Science is just now beginning to figure out (slowly) that we can thrive on the diet that fits our individual genotype - whether that be keto, omnivore, carnivore, paleo, Mediterranean, vegetarian, vegan. Dr. B is doing a disservice here, imo, but I guess he is convinced he's right. Too bad ;( I have had his 'Ion' health supplement to ck out & possibly try, on my list of possible acquisitions for good health. However, this video has completely soured me on that idea! Crossing it off my list.

I think Zach is a brilliant guy, but his Idealism on this topic has him searching for a story that supports his beliefs. like others have said current science is leaning more towards showing the importance of protein and animal products in a healthy diet. particularly as you age and lose the efficiency of your protein metabolism. I think there is a different ratio of macro nutrients that's suits different body types and its up to the individual to experiment with basic whole foods to find out what works for them. but it takes letting go of an ideal and just see how you feel , do you have enough energy to exercise. exercise has been shown to be the best thing for heath period case closed. so it makes sense that your diet should have the right type of nutrients to support that habit without leaving you to depleted and causing extended recovery times.

I seem to pick up on truth emanating from so many diverse viewpoints. One thing that was not mentioned, except in passing regarding dairy, was bone health. I was shocked to learn, at 75 that I have low bone density and am considered Osteoporotic. I was so sure I had that covered since I had been vegan since 50 and daily drank green smoothies(from weeds and wild plants on my organic farm). I also used natural progesterone cream, touted by Dr John R Lee to help mitigate bone loss. Well as mentioned, Dr Gabrielle Lyon and her bunch as well as much of the Keto enthusiasts all pointed to a lack of sufficient “quality” protein on vegan diets. Well when I upped my protein, by adding back plenty of meat,here came the destruction of my gut, as explained by Dr Zach! All rather exasperating to say the least!!

i have been on a journey to what I call "alignment through adaptation". It's like driving a bumper car and getting hit from every side. Dr. Bush is coming from a pure heart, as I feel his commitment and passion towards his own journey. I am a 53 year old male, 6' 2", 201 lbs and I have digestive issues since I was a kid, that I take 100% responsibility for. (too much sugar and junk food, too much reckless Abandon as I call it... = BAD ENVIRONMENT ). Now I am on a healing journey. WOW! Keto really helped me get fit and lose my gut. Intermittent fasting reset my cravings and I consistently stay around 200 lbs with lean muscle. I am the strongest I have been in my life (former Rugby Forward). My physical Body is fit, more defined and lean. My cognitive awareness is clear and creative. I feel more in touch with the earth, with my sons, with Life. I have been all over the map with nutrition. Plant based however, DOES make me bloat and the Stomach pains (I call it the Rodeo) leading up to a bowel movement is quite awful. I raise my own beef now and Since I I.F and eat only one large meal per day, I find the stomach cramps are gone, the bowel movements are painless and the "urge to go" more frequent. I am NOT healed by any means but I am actively searching and trying different methods. I look to Dr. Bush for help and I resonate with his wisdom and delivery methods especially on Epigenetics. I am aware enough to know that I WANT to find supporting arguments for eating MEAT, but I also am aware enough to know that my Environment is determined by ME, therefor my HEALTH is determined by me. I can ADAPT. SInce everyone has DIFFERENT environments, I do believe that EVERYONE is at a different level of ADAPTATION. Some of us need more meat, some of us less. I don't like the arguments for ALL OR NOTHING. Also, we've been lied to, coercerced, manipulated and out right k.illed off by Government guidelines. I do not like when Dr. Bush or ANYONE says "WE" NEED TO CHANGE, or "WE" are RUINING the PLANET etc"... WHO is "WE?" We only eat, use, consume, play with, what the GOVERNMENT gives us, based on their guidelines, their support for industries etc. "WE" are NOT the Problem. "Life wants to LIVE". we only Eat what we can get. Just like a Bear in the wild, stumbling on a bag full of house hold garbage, we ADAPT to what is available. WE have been LED to our OWN demise by a controlling group. Yes it IS that SINISTER. Anyways, Commune is doing Great Work as I like to hear all sides.

A functional medicine doc says the body has no need for carbs and you need more animal proteins. Paleo is what’s recommended. And less carbs. No more than 50 or 60. She goes on to say that grains and legumes and dairy destroy your health. What you are saying is very different. I have been a vegan. Vegetarian. Done keto and paleo. And nutritional balancing. I have chronic migraines, severe fatigue and problems sleeping. I’m 65 and most of this started after menopause. I have been searching and trying to repair my health for over 15 years. I eat 99 percent organic and grass fed organic animal protein. What you are saying also makes sense as do the others. It’s so hard to know what to do but I do like that you are basing it all in actual biology. It’s a shame though that it’s costs so much to try and do the right things to have good health. You are very convincing. Oh and also she says that most everyone has candida and this is the underlying cause for most problems.

Having studied vegetarianism back in the late 60s I've been aware of the general misunderstanding of protein that has persisted. Back then the daily requirement for protein was in the 20s for both male and female and years later it was changed to a higher number thanks to the meat industry's influence on the federal governments. When I first became a vegetarian I spent time every day figuring out what my nutritional intake was and I was actually getting too much protein, which made me gain weight, so had to cut back. Much of my information came from Frances Moore Lappe' in her books "Diet for a Small Planet" based on a lot of research. And thank you Dr. Bush for offering your knowledge which is so needed in today's overabundance of altered and toxic foods.

What are talking about animal products do not have that much gluten. Grains have gluten the most, and certain vegetables such as legumes have lechtins that have similar effect of glutens. You cant run away from toxic shit. You gotta balance it out. Also keto is great for losing weight but weight lost is too much for a long time use it. Although low carb is important for keeping insulin tolerance in check which causes every single chronic disease in the body including diabetes, atherosclerosis, kidney failure, fatty liver etc. In low-carb diet you dont need to go keto just lower your carb intake below or about 100 grams or more if you exercise a lot.

@Healthnutpb

They removed some triggers from the diet, the meat is giving the illusion of feeling better, they can't sustain keto long term though, they end up getting inflammatory markers that turn back on, and constipation, fatigue, etc in the long run though initially they see improvement. The reason they feel worse eating carbohydrates after changing their biochemistry to an environment of high fat is that the high fat diet creates insulin resistance and so the consumption of carbohydrates in a high fat state doesn't allow the natural sugars to get into the cells, so there's a feeling of fatigue and even a spike in blood sugar. They have to go back to the natural state of lower fat (dietary) in order to bring back the ability to process carbohydrates again.
