UNINTENTIONALLY tent camped on a spiders NEST !!

I went beck to tent camp in a haunted uk woodland with vegan outdoorsman, and i think i set my tent up over an underground spider nest.
At first, there was nothing wrong with the location because I didn't see one spider all night until BED TIME 🫢🫢.
I spent the evening eating a Chinese army ration pack, which I can't see how it's a 24-hour ration pack as it's just enough food for 1 meal.

Same thing happened to me this last Friday. Was chilling out watching dog soldiers on a solo wild camp when suddenly I saw something massive move in the corner of my eye. Three spiders evicted later and after putting all stuff out of my tent under the tarp cover I finally got to sleep. Then awoke to deer running around outside in the night which of course I mistook for werewolves..... God I love camping lol

Hey, when it comes to werewolves better safe that sorry. I don't even believe in them but I'm always on the lookout. Don't know if you have wolf spiders there (U.S. is covered in them) but they might could turn into werewolf-spiders. Something to think about.

Good on you. Start by camping at a site if you want to build up towards your goal. I have health problems and managed to go to a site this October. It was cold and wet and the first night I was miserable, but it became a lot more easy the next night. :) I'm 60 years old by the way. I did have a VERY good mattress and sleeping bag though, and that made ALL the difference. Used a 2 person tent, but was taken in a car to site.

Thing I enjoy the most is that you recognize that you are still learning like most of us. The content is more raw than others and for someone with anxiety like me, it comforts me to see the learning curves and the mishaps. I wish you were not as hard on yourself although you seem comfortable in your own skin. People who create content that is flawless also create a sense that we might not be competent enough to be able to do the things they do and that can cause us not to try. You are a great example. So I used to be TERRIFIED os spiders and I lived in Surrey for 4 years, we had some big ones, omg. Now I live back in the US and now I seek out the big spiders to film documentaries. Took years, but I am cool with them, now. Still...huge spider in my tent would be a bit nerve wracking :/ I have two videos on camping with UV lights. French Creek was insane with all the species that luminated with UV. There are actually four different reasons things light up that way in nature. Some are because their mates see them glowing pink or orange in moonlight, others are to become invisible to certain predators. As for the spiders, I have a camp spot I frequent that has numerous black widows right where I sleep, lol. Got them filmed, too lol. I like your content and have watcha lot over the last few days. Keep it going!

Certainly the quickest way to find out if your tent is really bug proof. My OneTigris Scaena tent isn't either. Too big a gap where the door zips meet, so I use small pieces of foam and put them between the zip heads. I also gave up on Sports Direct kit because most of it is utter shyte, and they have an atrocious record on employee treatment.
