Oh boy, just a pinch of chilli! A tip to try, Dan, is put a couple of tablespoons of balsamic vinegar, olive oil and honey in a ziploc bag, add a little salt and pepper and then put your steak in the bag. Give it a good shake up and leave in the fridge the night before you head out. If you buy fresh chillis at the supermarket and try them to see which you prefer, then I usually freeze them and when using grate with a cheese grater over the dish. If you grate one into the ziploc with your steak, you’ll get all the flavour and it’ll be much nicer to taste. Loving the videos mate. Keep it up. All the best from Brazil 🇧🇷

@@englishwoodsman Glad to hear it!😁. Last time I went out in the rain, it was bedlam, kept waking up picking them out of my hair, off my bag, under my bag, off my pad, everywhere, never seen so many. Coupled with the fact my back was killing, I nearly walked back home at 2 in the morning, didn’t because of my knives and having to walk through a council estate, asking to get pulled there, by the police at that time, especially with a big rucksack on!☹️😝. Anyway, got an overnight planned for Monday, I love the woods at this time of the year, all the colours!😁

You make a very valid point half way through the video about rushing to cook. When we are out with students and the conditions get rough, getting them together, cooking and chilling out really helps boost morale and get them back on track. I have a Jetboi and a Pocket Rocket but my go to is nearly always Trangia Spirit cooker just so I can chill out.

Yet again late to the video. Still excellent. Your 100% right about the rushing thing. Nowt better than sitting somewhere and just sitting with a coffee you've made on a fire or gas stove and enjoying the sounds of the countryside. I try to get out at least once a day just to sit and grab a few minutes for myself (as Oscar Outdoors says "Reset") probably got the saying wrong but you know what I mean. I don't get out to camp as much as I'd like but getting out once a day really helps with the mental health. Keep up the good work 🍻😁 Al.

I know I’m a bit late to the party on this one, but I really enjoyed this video. I had to stop watching some of the big outdoors/camping KZbinrs because all they’re interested in doing is showing off their £500 tents, £400 jackets, and all that. They’d literally spend about 30 seconds of a 10 minute video actually talking about where they were and what they were doing. Like you say, it’s much better to just be outdoors and slow down, enjoy being there, and try new things out.

If you have 2 of them, one inside the other, they're nesting mess tins. One on it's own is a mess tin. They were all we used back in the day, before Crusader mugs were issued. Nowadays as a civilian I still use them, usually I take one Dutch army stainless steel mess tin (prefer this to aluminium) and a stainless canteen cup with lid, so I can cook and make brews to my heart's content.

Nice set up for a bivvi. I don't tend to look at thing as if I have failed but more a learning curve I tried it didn't work so what can I do different next time. Any camp you can walk away from alive is a good one. If things get so bad that safety is compromised then you need to de arse the area.
