Perturabo is the strongest of the Primarchs. Even Fulgrim the Primarch killer admitted as much - which is why he wanted to drain Perturabos's power. Perturabo is the only Primarch to successfully go head to head with Angron - attempting to recruit him all the while Angron is trying to kill him. People underestimate Perturabo at their peril!

OneMindSyndicate controlling anger isn't usually a trait of intelligence IMO. Emotional control seems more like a trait of wisdom and empathy. Many brilliant proud men feel owed by the world for their intelligence, but only feel bitter because they don't see being the best isn't sufficient to be respected. It's what you *do* with that potential that shows if your character is worthy of respect.

I cant help it. So I type my feelings. This Iron Guard Primarch and his legion would have been cooler if they were not necessarily loyal but was not Heresy either. After Fulgrim tricked Perturabo into following Fulgrim into the Eye of Terra to go look for a non existing Chaos Super Weapon; Perturabo attacked Fulgrim thereafter. Perturabo wasted his time looking for nothing. It should have been because Perturabo and his legion are without righteous honor anymore the Emperor does not accept them. Therefore, Perturabo and his legion are not on the Emperor's side. Because Fulgrim humiliated Perturabo in a wild goose chase to find a prized weapon that never existed; Perturabo and Perturabo's legion is out to kill Fulgrim and Fulgrim's legion. Since Horus and his Heretics are also going to aid Fulgrim should Perturabo's legion attack Fulgrim and his Legion... ALL the Heretics are Perturabo's enemies. The friends of my enemy is my enemies. __Reverse Romana lingo for you there.__ Should Fulgrim battle agianst the Loyalists; Perturabo's legion should show up to ambush Fulgrim's legion. Some of the confused Loyalists legions would fire on Perturabo's legion. Perturabo's legion fires back to the confused loyalists and a three way battle erupts. "In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war."

*If I am not mistaking* A fact that was left out would be that it was Perturabo who named The eye of Terra.... "the eye of Terra" he did so from his flagship. Before the name, it was just a simple code in the navigation system. Through out his early life he had been able to sense if not see it. It was the only thing he ever spoke of personaily on his homeplanet rather then objective mathmatics and sceince. The Forgebreaker was given to Perturabo after the purge of his own world by Horus as a gift a proof of forgiving him of his sin. "fools though it was a part of a deal while it was obvious about forgiveness"- (more or less) The wiki.

My great-uncle's name was Horrus, Werner Horrus ( two "r"), he was the father of my aunt who married my mother's brother, so her maidens name was Horrus too, before she married, Ilse Horrus. No joke. He never had any of the main convictions the emperor had, as shown by his calous disregard for life. So joining Horus was just more politically expedient given the Olympia massacre.

I don't get the hate for the Iron Warriors. If you were mistreated, unappreciated and finally persecuted by those you served would you not begrudge them? Then when you are approached my a charismatic and powerful friend who offers you support and retribution on those who wronged you would you not be interested? I think that Perturabo and the Iron Warriors fall to chaos speaks more to the Failings of the Emperor, the Imperium , Horus's charisma and guile.

Question: Will GW have a plan for all the primarchs? I think they should make a huge story, spanning millennia, changing 40k slowly into 50k. Players can choose the era they play in, so no reason for the story not to continue. Characters, whole chapters and even factions could die or change, that would be great for people loving the story and wondering where it goes. I think at some point each of the primarchs should die, in a real epic and memorable way. The loyal ones surely have to come back one day like hinted at forever. I was thinking (as backdrop of a Dark Heresy campaign in Askellon sector), that Mars should fall as predicted by the Moirae schism folks. It could be an epic century long war between Imperium, Chaos, Necrons and an independent faction (Eldar?) that hates Necrons. Could two daemon pinces, like Perturabo and Angron, eventually kill the Necron / CTan or whatever it is that is rumored to be hidden on mars? Or would they need help, psychic or otherwise, from Magnus, the Eldar or non-chaos humans? Maybe Fabius Bile could move there with many of his creations including maybe some Primarch clones (like Ferrous Manus)? Orks might also be a nice addition to an (almost) neverending war. Mars is named after the god of war after all so it would be fitting!

I don't know why I like this Primarch but I do. He seems like fan fiction "...and he's the most intelligient of the primarchs, and he' got artificer terminator armor, and he was just as good as Ferrus Manus at building stuff and he was strong enough to kill Fulgrim even though he was weakened, and his strategizing is on par with Roboute Guilliman's, and he can shot bolters through his arm, has an everything-proof-shield and, AND! he got turned into a daemon prince". Like I said he's awesome but someone went a "little" overboard when creating him.
