Wow. Former squash player here trying to change a 40 year habit. I heading to the ball machine tomorrow morning to see if this at-home mirror is telling me the TRUTH... I'll let all know moving forward. Nicely Done, Sir. Nicely Done.

Great lesson, the late, great Vic Braden used the same tip on the backhand follow through. He would say air the armpit at the completion of a one handed backhand.

That's right. He would never have imagined that it could apply to the forehand. Glad your enjoying the channel. Do you have any other tennis issues that I could help with? If so let me know www.oneminutetennis.com

awesome! i just watched your other video on increasing serve power by bringing the elbow up towards the ball. took it to the practice courts and wow😮 totally worked thanks a million! question though... what if you want that low clearing , low bouncing almost skidding ball? primarily to add variety

Nice one! Directly contradicts the Iga forehand but I can see how this is like you say a safer forehand

Coming back to tennis recently I just haven’t been able to crack top spin forehand. This could be the tip that gets me there. Can’t wait to try it out

what youre really talking about is activating the ball of the shoulder by taking the elbow back (at the height of the shoulder) which now activated, participates in the forward forehand motion, adding significant power (and added large muscle participation)

Vic Braden was saying “air the armpit” back in the 1970s or 80s.

Should you raise the (left) elbow for the two-handed backhand too? Assuming you're right-handed.
