There is no engineering that can't be done to warrant excluding the headphone jack.. It's just a stupid design trend.. One that literally reduces functionality. And also makes us consumers pay more in the end.. How literally stupid to remove something and pay extra for it's removal. The anorexic phones of today are unnecessary, I wouldn't mind having a thicker phone to up the battery size but keep the headphone jack.. It's literally mm's of a difference.. And a more satisfactory tactile feel overall really, to have a slightly thicker phone to gain battery size and maintain a headphone jack.. People slap huge ass cases on phones anyway, to keep them protected, or also give them that extra battery pack built into the case, which, makes them hella thicc.. While my dad had to upgrade from his old Samsung Galaxy S5 because of its slowdown with age, my phone is still as fast as when I first got it. Like any other phone, looking after it sensibly will prolong its life. I'll keep my 3T until I get to see the OnePlus 7 and possibly 7T.

There is room, it's an iPad after all. The reason Apple has left out the headphone jack, is because they want to fully enter the "fully wireless" world they've been marketing. Additionally, by leaving out the headphone jack they can slightly reduce manufacturing costs while still selling it at a premium price point.

Why don't we use Thunderbolt in phones yet? Because it costs more. 1 headphone jack probably costs few cents or dollars. But you have to multiply that by 50-100 million (for example 5 cents × 100 000 000 equals 5 million dollars. But I don't know real cost of it, so. (2) Business. Or long name: selling AirPods (which are pretty good even when using Android) and dongles, literally the most selling products by Apple. (3) Water resistance. Yes, that is actually reason sadly. Less holes in phone = the better. They stupidly designed it at first, but with iPhone Xs' and Xs Max's IP68 *30 minutes in 2 meter*. comparing to more holes like Samsung Galaxy Note 9. (4) It's Apple. They do it regularly.

Display Breaks into my pocket for whatever ungodly reason, the Bixby Button is completly useless for someone who dont use inteiligent Software (at least Apple doesnt include a button who nobody will use) and my headphonejack gets crappier and crappier. For me i like iOS much more than Android. Its faster it feels better and i can use it better for me, which means i guess i will searched for an iPhone X or maybe an XS Max we will see. But for Samsung? Never will buy their Smartphones again.
