Onetigris aka One Copycat - Why I Quit

So I ended up preordering that hot tent prior to seeing this video. It pretty much sums up how awful that company is. They kept giving me excuses of why the tent hasn't been sent. Then they said they were on a spring break so that delayed it! Weeks later they finally got me a tracking number... I checked it, it was cancelled by them! Another week later with more excuses from them, I told them to forget it and give me my money back. The next email I get was tracking information that they should have sent to me a week ago prior... And now they want me to ship it as a donation to some address... My goodness, what a mistake to pre order through them!

🤣🤣 thats terrible. That company is terrible. They are asking you to ship it to another purchaser to save on shipping costs. They used to do the same thing to me.... get a refund for it then sell it , double your money for your time wasted 🤙

I ended up ordering a smokehouse outfitter tent. Had I known about his tents, I wouldn't have messed with Onetigres. I'd rather support american made any day!

Hey man I really want Onetigris to know that the ONLY reason I looked for their products is because of YOUR VIDEO. I watched two of your videos yesterday and really enjoyed what you did with the hot tents. I WAS gonna buy their stuff, but I think I’m gonna wait now. If they treat you like this, how will they treat a consumer with no real audience. As for what you are allowed to do, you can use whatever stove you want. We must never ALLOW companies to infringe on OUR individual liberties. Keep up the great work brother.

I try not to buy Chinese made goods because the government seems to think that they own their people and use them like machines or farm animals, but that hammock hot tent was sweet! That's all thanks to you. You might want to pursue a patent on it and partner with a Canadian cottage industry hot tent maker to produce your design. I would buy the same spec. tent made in the free world for 1.5X the price.

Thanks for the honesty, Lonewolf 902. I own quite a few products from OneTigris and my favorite tent is a Bungalow 2.0. This behavior by OneTigris says quite a bit about how the company conducts business. I'm a member of a huge organization of 20K and more members nation wide. I will certainly pass the word along as many of them inquired about several of the products I own. Personally, I love the quality of the gear I've purchased from Amazon and other sources but there's an important principle of business being violated by this company...trust.

Lonewolf here reached out to me over a year ago after I made a podt on a couple FB groups asking for help and suggestions on gear. He didn't have to but he messaged me a full list of gear including the Smokey Hut from OT. Saw his video review and not only did I like the tent, I also liked his content. Real nice guy. I only watch a couple of his videos here and there but what I do watch, I like. He is informative, gives in depth reviews, he's really had the time to test these products. And the fact he's been doing this basically pro-bono, I think they really owe him a lot more than they think or even he thinks. 2 years of shooting, editing, field testing, they owe him a fuckton more than they know. I have a feeling if it weren't for him, they wouldn't see the sales numbers they are seeing now. While I enjoy the tent that Lonewolf902 recommended, I don't like what OneTigris is doing to him. Fuck these people Keep up the good work man!

I’m a pro wedding photographer. Magazines, vendors, venues, other artists want our images for free. It’s bullshit. Everyone promises exposure if you let them use your images but none want to pay. We photographers did it to ourselves because starting up we wanted the exposure and work but you never get the respect or compensation you deserve. I can’t pay my mortgage with exposure but I can with money. Not Knowing your worth is a lesson we artists learn the hard way. You know now, give nothing for free. I’d contact a lawyer and see if you get go after them for something. Sorry this happened to you.

They’re a company at the end of the day, they were always going to take a mile the moment they’d inched their way in the door. There aren’t many family orientated companies that treat people properly and put money second these days, UGQ’s are few and far between. It’s not a huge deal for me but I can see why it would be for you, it’s your intellectual properly, your hard work. Also, thanks for showing the Pomoly mini stove. I regret not buying it over the 3W stove but I didn’t know it even existed until I saw it here. That’s going to be my hammock hot tent stove in the future, I don’t think I’ll be purchasing a OneTigris hammock hot tent if they release one. Please continue to do your thing.

For compensation, copyright permissions and infringements, intellectual property, royalties etc in this type of situation its about fair usage fees based on national industry standards. Canadian based and work with writers illustrators and photographers. Shame it has come to this for you.

Good job mate!! I commend you for bringing this to people's attention because I've stayed away from companies for this very reason. I can't tell you how many times I've been over this same issue with companies that want to take advantage of us smaller KZbinrs and basically have us do thousands of dollars worth of marketing work for them in exchange for some free gear! Not to mention they want to use your brand, image and likeness to sell their products without appropriately compensating us. I know from working on the other side of this acquiring marketing materials for a company that you are owed tens of thousands for the work you've done for them

What's funny is ....I had gone to OT's website to look for the tent to check it's specs and what have you. I was definitely considering the purchase....NOT NOW.....NO WAY! Pretty ghetto conduct on their part. I know the feeling you must have....I have been there. They must be clueless about our community. I hope one Tigris reads these responses to your video. I for one was greatly influenced by your videos and have been seriously considering buying some of their products for overnight camping while fishing and hunting. I’ve been planning these purchases for quite awhile now while pulling the money together to make those purchases. After watching this video and hearing about how they are treating someone who has so OBVIOUSLY helped their brand, I will not be spending my hard earned money on their products. Nor will I ever. There are so many other options available, including making your own. I am a veteran and some of the best gear I’ve ever used has been military gear. And low and behold there is an awesome Army surplus store just across the river from me who has a lot of what I need. Kudos to you for standing up for yourself and not letting Chinese commies take advantage of you. After hearing your story I feel like the compensation you are owed is SIGNIFICANT. I hope eventually they decide to pay up. They probably won’t, but I hope they do. Besides, it’s time for this country as a whole get off the Chinese teet and start producing our own products again. How we ever let traitor politicians sell us out the way we did is beyond me anyways. This country buys EVERYTHING we use and need from people who hate us for even existing. It really blows my mind.

Glad that I stumbled onto this before committing to a purchase of any kind from Onetigris. My husband and I do a lot of research before purchasing or backing a brand. We don't have endless amounts of money to throw away on repeat purchases. Company integrity is an absolute must for us. It is to the point that we have a written list of companies NOT to purchase from. This company will be added to the list. And so the search continues for quality gear from reputable companies. I recently bought Pomoly's 'Hex' tent, and their 'Timber' stove. The tent is nice. The stove is modular, which offers both plusses and minuses. I bought the optional second set of side panels, enabling me to have metal or glass on the one or both sides - GREAT! However, the modularity entails use of nuts and bolts, and those could get lost.

I've heard from a lot of Tubers that the flashlight companies are really demanding as well. They send you a 100 dollar flashlight and expect thousands in advertising and sales. Good on you! I thought about this announcement overnight and I still think they make value-priced products that do perform extremely well. I'm not going to torch my OneTigris gear anytime soon but it is sure a heads up as to how they treat their product reviewers. Sometimes the old "If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is." comes to mind here.

You did the right thing. I like the stand you are making, and I'm glad you pulled the plug on that abuse of your relationship. Take your power back. It's a shame that there is no legal framework to deal with that in any cost-effective manner, as this is copyright and identity theft in my opinion, and there should be a way to deal with it that gets some compensation for that sort of abuse of their power base over your information/image. Good on ya.

Degrading quality: One Tigres Poncho shelter Mine had all the waterproofing wash out in the first 2-1/2 hours of use in heavy rain, on the very first day I owned it. I might as well have been wearing a bug net.... My order came in the mail, just as I was getting ready to pull out for a 4 day trip. The package was opened in the parking lot by the trail head. The skys opened up about 3 miles down the trail. A couple hours of hard rain later, it was as useless as a wet T shirt. I would not recommend.
