How do you do it so perfectly, that even though I’m retired, listening to CSM literally catapults me right back to when I was an E7 and listening to this guy knit pick literally everything about the enlisted leadership. Dude, you do such a good job that it’s literally frightening. My other question is, what NCO rank were you before you transitioned to Warrant. Thanks again, and most excellent job sir.

Years ago, as an Officer in the 82nd, they would have us do health and welfare checks in the barracks. They had the Enlisted standing at parade rest outside their rooms with all the dresser drawers staggered open, etc. I would walk in, just stare at the ceiling for a few minutes and then walk out. I didn't look at sh*t. Always hated doing those and felt terrible invading their privacy. Pretty much all of the Officers did the same. Different times, I guess.

@@chadgriffith-e3y I mean, it did when I was in Security Forces, but that's probably because I actually used it to find people's stolen items and saw personally that it was returned to them. Ideally, you kick a little ass and get everyone squared away before you take leave. Communicate your expectations for when you’re gone, make it clear that CSM is going to be checking them, and if he leans on you, you might have to lean on them. If you have a solid team, they’ll also know to give sarmajor at least one small thing to grumble about. If he can’t grumble about standards, he won’t be completely happy. If everything is too perfect, he won’t feel needed,or important.
