Really useful video! Those caps aren't available anymore, though. Can you recommend others? I've never done circuit board work, only audio cabling and the like, don't want to mess it up. Thanks!

NP. Its not a hard job and you can find these receivers every now and then on the market place with the same problem for cheap. I have done 2 of them now and have the one I fixed in the video hooked up to my living room still working great and the other one is out in my garage for jams.

That was a beautifully done job my man. Would I be able to purchace the whole board these days? Would you be able to restore my Onkyo TX NR-818 with a new board and or better caps? Thank-you

Thanks. You could always buy the stuff needed to fix it and bring it to a shop to have it serviced. I dont know if you can get a new board for these anymore with how old of a model they are.

Quick question what was the Flux for ? Did you use it ? im having the same problem with mine

Flux makes a huge difference in how easy it is to get the solder to ball up on the pads and wire. The better the flux the easier it is to work with. I use that flux any time I solder.
