I’m so grateful to the comedic side of Dan’s messages. The impressions of obnoxious people and the undertones of his sense of humor are why I keep following. (Plus the boost to my mood)

You are too hilarious 😂 Your communication skills and vocabulary are fluent.

I really like this approach. You (Dan O'Conner) validate something I've been teaching people for years.., PAY ATTENTION to your own words. By naming things in the manner that you suggest, not only does it allow for a clearer understanding on the receiving end but it also provides a more structured and detailed way of communicating for the person doing the talking.
@TheWizardOfWords6 жыл бұрын
And thank you, Dr. AJ, for your validation as well. Particularly in this world at this time--we should be paying attention to our words and realizing they matter. It seems so many people, (including our political leaders) who should be living and teaching this are doing neither. Again--thanks for your comment Dr. AJ. Dan

Dan, another great video ! You always hammer the words back into the places they belong. If you ever wanted a side gig, you should try comedy writing. I believe you would be great at it !

Zippy I'm not so sure I could do that and I'll tell you why. I never plan to be funny because if I did I'd fall flat and I know it. I never script humor, even when I'm giving a keynote or doing onsite training. The best I can do is improvise as I go and sometimes it's funny. And sometimes it's not :( :( :( However, I do thank you for your kind words! Dan

Oh my gosh! Mr. Dan the Man. Thank you and God bless you too. I have just discovered you and your knowledge. This has come at the right time. The assertiveness tactic does not work with the ignorant and bullies. As a matter of fact it is quite lame. Thank you for all your insight.

@@TheWizardOfWords 4 more people this week are now been onto your content. I had a chance today to apply your “that maybe, but.. broken record technique etc” and omg im mind blown..! You are brilliant! I felt a little bit triggered this morning when I was communicating with somebody and I remembered when I have written down many times “I am a loving and compassion person” and I remember actually snapping myself out of and changed my mindset when caught off guard and communicated assertively with love and respect ....and this achieved desired results for both parties!.. Thank you ETERNALLY Dan..

My sandwich reminded me of the day I had a fresco sandwich in italy. The olives tasted like they were picked off the vine that day. And, the lemon trees. Oh, the lemon trees. Grandpa fell into a lemon tree that day. He was so senile.

Was that soda in that mason jar? I don't know why it seems wrong to drink anything but water or lemonade from a mason jar. I use one constantly but I just drink water. Random. Nevermind.

Can you tell me to what specifically you're referring? That would help me out. I appreciate the fact that you're thinking about it and giving it a chance especially if it's something that doesn't at first seem like a perfect fit for you. Thank you for having faith, Che! I'm sure it will pay off.

*So...Nouns, Verbs and "we same"?* Name it: use more (and more interesting) nouns. Invent terms and they'll feel like the two of you are "inventing language" together. Onomatopaeia: Examples given were all (or mostly) verbs. Use verbs that, by being "what it really sounds/seems like", are more vivid or evocative. And less boring. We same: repeated assurance (or assuring by asking) that we're "on the same page", "in the same tribe", "of one mind"...
@TheWizardOfWords6 жыл бұрын
Wow and thank you for that perfect summary. Please feel free to do that on any/all of my videos, Bruce. :) Dan
