Staying on message is a very good point. If you want to say no to something for example you must decline and stay firm. If you break down and start making up excuses you give room for the other person to pick apart your excuses and try and find “solutions” to fix the excuse so you can oblige to their request. This will lead to you needing to find yet another excuse to trump the first one and it goes on and on. no is no. You don’t need to explain yourself.

When you are just 2 working together and the other is a difficult person I can tell you days are long, I extremely rarely engage with him because it's just rants, so I don't talk to him. In the end we're working each in our space just like we're alone : the days are long and the worst is lunch brake...

Hi Dan I work in corrections and this is liquid gold! Dealing with difficult incarcerated persons (and sometimes officers) is part of the job. I love these 3 principles. I have witnessed some of these principles, but never can put my finger and articulate how important they are until this video. Gold nuggets of knowledge! I appreciate you, keep it up, thank you.❤

Im not quite sure as to what that means My safety lives where I do not defend. Can you explain it to me?!
@luciadiane6682 Жыл бұрын
@@eachandeverything4022I think it means, if you take the bait, you leave your solid ground. So if you change your answers, you wind up arguing and defending what you were originally trying to say in the first place. So basically, stay in the lane of the message and keep to that and repeat it, until the baiter gives up talking to you. He/she will give up trying to get what they want from you and move on to someone/something else. It’s 2023, and I just saw this video. Great video btw.

Hi Dan, I just subscribed to your videos, and I think you’re amazing! You have great wisdom in dealing with people! I, myself am not so warm and fuzzy ( if you will) when someone disrespects me. When it comes to my emotions, I can be a bit immature. I of course am not ashamed of that, I have leveled self-esteem and an overcomer in most areas in life, I give all the glory to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!!! I can definitely use some better choice of words as a woman my age should already have accomplished. God bless you Dan and now I’m definitely looking forward to seeing more videos of you. 🙏🏼🙌🏽❤️

Our species isn't the easiest to get along with. True and this goes for difficult people as well. People can be annoying. Incompetent. Ridiculous. But as I told my own subscribers, you have to make an attempt not to hurt them. And usually that means even their feelings. You have to understand that many will have annoying traits that are not necessarily bullying traits but just what they are--annoying. And usually this type of behavior comes from their own internal unrest. As one of my Muay Thai coaches said: if a tiger attacks you in the jungle you must draw your knife and kill it. But if a little dog was nipping at your heels would you kick it to death? No, you move it gently out of the way. And that is the effort you have to make with people. Not everyone is strong, most aren't warriors. They aren't confident therefore have to be dealt with gently like the above analogy. And if you do that daily, you will find that it reflects back and gives you only more tranquility. Hope this helps someone out there---Charles

Hi Hymns Playlist. The worksheets go with my 50-lesson program. You probably saw a sample of one of the lessons on KZbin, thus the reference to worksheets. In re spotlight questions. Maybe if you go to the subscription page and look at the playlists you can find it? I have about 250 videos up, and am not sure which one you might need.

I have to work a retail job as one of the managers. Highly toxic and troubling environment. I’m a more mature team member and do my best to get on with people of all backgrounds and ages. Have a background in HR. I’m being tortured daily at work. Eg: walking into the break room and a young manager trashing and undermining me and the assistant managers tolerating it. Making me look bad when I am doing a good job and customers write good reviews. Head manager did his best to sort it out as he was brought in to sort a toxic environment before I was hired recently, but with the majority talking and gossiping behind my back shows me they are trying to oust a safe and grounded person - from one of the employees. I’m exhausted and scared of losing my job now.
@TheWizardOfWords2 жыл бұрын
Sunita, I hope you carry on just as you are, but in the meantime, polish up your resume and get it out there. You shouldn't have to be exhausted at work--and scared of losing your job on top of it. There are places where a hard-working person who knows how to get along with the public is appreciated and not denigrated.

How do you recommend I handle witnessing but not necessarily being involved in hostile communication? Let me explain, I share an office with my office manager who tends to be unnecessarily hostile with coworkers. Sometimes she’s dismissive. I first ignored the behavior thinking she possibly knew something I didn’t but as I’ve observed it’s more so with people she just dislikes or whenever she FEELS they’re suggesting she’s at fault for something. I don’t know how to professionally intervene without seeming passive aggressive. I realize they’re not situations that involve me but I can’t witness unfair treatment by a superior and stay quiet. Help!
@TheWizardOfWords4 жыл бұрын
Jacklyn, let me ask you a question--what result would you expect if you intervened in a situation between this woman and someone else--when you are not involved? If you did a benefits analysis--what would be the result of that analysis??

I had an incident the other night at work we're someone that I unfortunately may have to work with in the future just came up and laid into me the very first time she laid eyes on me for basically no reason other than my job title. Because my job title is considered to be "lowly" so to speak, she used my job title in a sentence saying that I did not need to be where they were. The message she was sending was I was not good enough to be there. We do not work for the same company or in the same field but sort of, kind of related work filled. She definitely Trump's me in the employment filled but the way she approached me infuriated me. It also embarrassed me and humiliated me. I wound up going home and calling her supervisor at her job because she is in the public. Her direct Supervisor was not there but I did speak to and should be getting a call back within the next couple of days. The person I spoke to was very disappointed in her and pretty angry at the situation that she caused. Unfortunately, I could not have a verbal word exchange with her because of our different job titles. I would have gotten myself into more trouble then it was worth and that she is worth
