I've met Joe thrice now and he has always been the most joyous, energetically compassionate human to be around. It's been two years since I've seen him and I am so happy he is doing well and as wonderful as always. I just bought two copies; love you very much, Joe!

@@TheJester39 It's also for people who changed the sport, changed the position, changed how the whole media coverage changed: Roger Staubach would not have been talking about how awesome his sex life was in his monogamous married life if not for Broadway Joe - the first QB to transcend the sport, put the AFC on the map, & garner high profile national sponsorships that got shown on tv. He was good for the sport of professional football, & the NFL as we know it would not exist without him. Al Davis was not the greatest owner of all time, but he transformed the sport as well: a key player in the merger of the NFL-AFL. The Hall of Fame is NOT just for individual achievement/excellence: many deserving players are voted in posthumously

I met Joe Namath when I was in day camp and he was still playing for the Jets. He knew exactly how to act around a bunch of adoring little kids. Best memory from that Summer by far. Especially since that was the summer I was bitten by two bees on the last day of camp between my fingers. Cried all the way home.
