Its good we make the meat from separator meat, its meat that are not big enough pieces like a chicken filet and then it would be thrown away but its perfectly fine, just to small to package. We have really strict rules concerning processing meat. Im glad we also use this meat plus its really tasty :)

Kaasbroodje is indeed fantastic..! You might also try 'puddingbroodje', you can get it by a bakery. Goes very well with coffee or thee. Or stroopwafels of course, when they are still warm. But since that is always the nr. 1 first lesson people learn once they arrive at the airport, I assume you already know about that ;)

The fascination with Hema worst I will never understand. I've been born and raised in the Netherlands and I consider the Hema smoked sausage the worst smoked sausage I have ever had. I love smoked sausage and the one from the Hema is the only one I will always turn down, unless I haven't eaten in days. To each their own I guess. Also most make stamppot boerenkool without any flavor, the family recipe I have from my mother includes adding mustard and vinegar and it really brings out the flavors. The huishoudschool (house keeping school) really killed traditional Dutch cuisine by standardizing, minimizing and economizing recipes for the sake of efficiency. At least according to my mother who went there.

Wat zit er in frikandellen? runder- of kalfsgehakt, zeer fijn gemalen, zout, peper, piment, nootmuskaat, (doe het makkelijk en neem een kruidenmix), uienpoeder en creame. Het gehakt moet mager zijn anders moet er ook heel fijn gemalen zwoert (varken) er in voor de stevigheid. dan nog even het fabel dat er ogen in zitten; een oog bestaat uit 80% water, de lens is zelfs voor een professionele cutter niet kapot te krijgen en past echt niet in een frikandel. Het enige grote koeienoog wat er mogelijk in zou kunnen is (Telekia speciosa) of het lekker is? geen idee. Als je toch bang bent dat er iets in zit wat je niet wil, maak ze zelf, beetje kliederen en dan heb je wel wat. Eet smakelijk

In Belgium it's called a worstenbroodje, but just a sausage like this rolled in puff pastry without the ketchup, which many Belgians eat. Mechanically separated meat. The bones of a chicken have small pieces of meat after slaughter and processing. This meat is sprayed off under high pressure and it is used to make frikandels, chicken nugets and frankfurters. this is not dirty or something like a squander to let this meat unnecessary go to waste.

I swear frikandelbroodje didn’t exist when I lived in the Netherlands early 2000s. Frikandel,yes, and saucijssenbroodje,yes, are what I knew, plus the apple tart. Please someone confirm this.

Yeah they didn't have it around where I live for very long, just sausage in that wrapping but I like the other kind of worstenbroodjes with a nice dry shell, not puff pastry. My mother liked a frikandel, I never did. At the snackbar I go for a kroket or a bitterbal but there are so many bad ones these days, barely any beef flavor and often ruined by currypowder, the yellow stuff..

Het horrorgehalte van de snack valt reuze mee. De frikandel bevat gewoon vlees: kippenvlees, varkensvlees en soms wat paardenvlees. Het grootste deel daarvan is separatorvlees. Dat zijn kleine restjes die aan de botten blijven zitten nadat de filet en borst van de kip zijn afgesneden. Onder hoge druk worden die vleesrestjes van het bot geperst.

worstenbroodje is pretty much the same as frikadellenbroodje, in Belgium everyone calls it worstenbroodje lol, it's just the different kind of broodjes but all under the same name

No, worstenbrood is normal dough with a minced meat (semi) filling and no sauce. Frikandel-broodje is puff pastry with separatormeat (minced-minced meat) and a curry sauce. You call a "frikandel" a "curry-worst" so a frikandelbroodje becomes a curry-worstenbroodje which is shortened to worstenbroodje.
