As a mom, I raised my children to appreciate all food. When they first started eating solids, I made sure they ate veggies. The rule in our house was “two bites”. You had to had to eat two bites of everything. If you didn’t like it, quietly set it aside and always be respectful. Someone took the time to prepare it, the least they could do was show respect. Now as they are adults, I’m proud to say they are adventurous eaters who have a healthy respect for food and the cultures in which they are consumed. Well done to this young man. He’s able to see that he was headed down a road of misery with his chips habit and made the right changes.

They start at a young age so their body adapts to it. If you are older your body is already accustomed to a certain way of eating. Not to say it can’t be changed but it will be harder. Humans know very little about nutrition. Even so-called nutritionists. The reason for this is that everyone is unique. We can’t tell people what is best for them. What works best for them. That is up for us to decide because we know ourselves best.

Why did he spit the pasta out in the sink? Do they not have a bin lmao
@carinaejag6 жыл бұрын
Why not just include it in warm food dishes that hides the taste a bit like broccoli and ham sauce and pasta. It feels like they make it worst way possible.

I was literally looking for this comment.... who the hell eats raw veggies hahaha

That's not how it works. A lot of these people won't EAT cooked foods if you try to introduce them straight away, especially when they don't have a full understanding of what's in them. You forget that this isn't actually ABOUT the food; it's a conditioned fear response, and fear responses get significantly worse when you don't understand something. They have to start slowly with single, raw ingredients so that the victim's brain goes "ah ha, I know what this is" and then slowly build from there. It's called exposure therapy, and it's what you use for pretty much every phobia.

I always wonder why the first food has to be raw greens? Ketchup on it may help and a jacket potato.

OMG, I kept wishing his family would stop looking so intently at what Dave was eating, but he was a big boy and got through it. Stopping the self talk about food and eating normally. He should feel better too.

Must be an awful feeling of having everyone in your family sat around you WATCHING you eat and talking to you like a 6 year old each time you eat a vegetable, AND when your last one eating and they watch you even more. Good on you mate.

Because those are not processed calorie dense foods. Humans are genetically programmed to naturally prefer the most calorie dense food in their environment, even if it’s unhealthy. We evolved in an environment of scarcity, and still behave as though we live in scarcity.
