This is a place so many walk past and rarely go in, next to the Emperor's Akasaka Estate, it’s a branch of the main site in Toyokawa near Toyohashi (Aichi). Let’s have a Quick Look inside. MAP: maps.app.goo.gl/iEqKdGRz8FdjB...

Akasaka seems like a lovely neighbourhood and also a good place to go when you're hungry. Thanks for the walk, John!

I stayed in Akasaka last year and we loved it. Close to everything but also away from the chaos.

37:06 I remember that! I was surprised when I heard it. So different from what you normally hear at traffic lights. As another person commented, it's called "Toryanse". I passed through that intersection on the way to Akasaka Palace last year. There, for some reason, they found it suspicious that I a Caucasian male solo traveler would want to visit Akasaka Palace and they were very diligent in searching me and asking questions. I mean... I just like how the Japanese take care of gardens and public spaces, man, and wanted to walk around and take a few photos 😅.

Akasaka is the place I stay when in Tokyo! Not dead quiet with no options but not insanely busy either. A decent area to explore and stay relaxed but still very central, so it's a very short subway trip to the more touristy spots.
@onlyinjapanGO14 күн бұрын
That’s a good way to put it. It’s a good balance, central, well connected. Taxi is also much cheaper to most places. Walking distance, 30-45 min almost all places! It’s a pretty good spot when you think about it, competition too so prices are overly inflated.

I hope John will visit again the hidden shrine in Akihabara......he went there some time during the summer of 2017......it was the first live stream that I watched on this channel
@onlyinjapanGO14 күн бұрын
I have, many many times when I show Akihabara. It’s just not specific to only the shrine like that stream. It was a fun one, I was chocked the signal stuck in the alley that day.

Tourism could be a set space and time this way everyone wins those places get tourists the tourist get their tourist pics and the government can tax the tourist space and hand out fines. It would be easy to put the screen up and down to block the out of time tourist pics. Even lock the standing space up and use ticketing entry limited people with a must buy from the 711 as part of the process. Rent the space and paid parking etc etc.

What area is the best to live in Japan?
@onlyinjapanGO7 күн бұрын
Depends on each person, for me - Hiroshima. Loved the people, good culture, easy access to the whole city (smaller) on the Shinkansen line. Wish they had a closer airport.

@@onlyinjapanGO thanks for replying me. I have been watching your videos whenever I can. We were there on Golden week. However, my boyfriend had injured his right foot that he couldn’t walk. So I had to leave him at the hotel and sightseeing alone with no Japanese. Google translate was my life saver. I wanted to eat Japanese food so badly but my google map wasn’t functioning good. I will be more prepared next time.

You know if a president is a people man if he eats the same food as the commoners.

That’s one way to see it, he sure likes his burgers 🍔 I remember when a friend who’s a Trump supporter here called to say he was going to meet Trump at a Yakiniku restaurant in Ginza / Aoyama. Then it changed suddenly to a burger. Hahaha!! He didn’t meet the president but got a burger later.
