As a lone traveler, always makes me wonder what japanese people does in rituals like this, always makes me want to try but afraid too making mistakes since this is a ritual/ceremonies. Thank you for showing and teaching us how to! definitely will do this! just a question when should this be done? like every year? on what month? or any day will do??

I feel lucky this year already since I found your channel! I've gone back to watch all your videos this past month. Even though I started learning Japanese seriously a month ago and I'm a super beginner, I still find your videos helpful and really fun. I look forward to what you do next, and to watching you without subtitles soon! :)

"Dont go outside whilst giving birth". Laughs aside, thank you for uploading this. I'm looking forward to sharing in this culture when I move to Japan this year(Covid willing). I hope this year will be better for all ❤️

I am not even a tiny bit Japanese, but my shit got rocked by the universe for the last three years in a row, so I figured that watching this before 2023 starts can't hurt. 😅😅 I turned 32 this year, so I guess in the Japanese/Korean way of counting I actually turned 33. Is 33 also a Yakudoshi for women? This year definitely felt like it. 😭😭

Thank you so much for sharing this information. I learnt something today. Ahh, so Hitoki was born in the year of the ox? We have similar custom too but the ritual is different. 2021 is a yakudoshi year (In Chinese, we call it: 犯太歲.) for those born in the year of ox (especially). Other chinese zodiac affected are: sheep, horse, dog and dragon. It's different every year. Before the Lunar New Year, I will be going to the shrine to pray too 'cos it's a yakudoshi year for me too. Here I pray for good health and good fortune for you and family and also for everyone out there! Stay safe and take care ;)
I am nervous, this year is a critical year and I am trying to find a shrine that would offer a virtual ceremony since they are all so far. 😱😭

I thought it meant my bad year would be next year, but its this year, I've been doing ok! Not good and lot of bad things, but still ok!

The temples are exceptionally beautiful! I am so courious what role the shrine has in society, or how influential or involved they are. Do they have missionary work with children or even adults? Do they teach people certain things?
@Onomappu4 жыл бұрын
They just ask us to put stuff they gave us. They don't say anything we shouldn't do or something else!

Wow, that's amazing! We learned about yakudoshi in class! How long do you keep the charm in your room?

Usually we keep it for one year and bring it back to the place where I first go and put my omamori

If you didn't do this your first bad year, where did you get the amulet you gave back as the old one?
