Amazing video guys, keep up the great work.......not to be picky but at the 2:00 mark the plane shown landing is not the DHC-2 Beaver but rather the C-64 Norseman. Both iconic Canadian bush planes.

fly ins are expensive. Better to do a 7 day trip in lake of the woods and hire a guide in your boat. Most lodges do not have the fish finders, boats and mine has megalive, 2 networked units with autocharting. When you do a lodge with your boat bringing your own food and alcohol really cuts down the trip. Did lake of the woods with 2 buddies and barely touched $800-$850 CAD with gas and towing a boat.

Hi John--a lot of us do not own the high-tech fishing boats, trailers, electronics, etc. I allow myself anywhere between 2-4 outpost trips per year, plus a boundary waters trip. I also have a small cottage on a good walleye lake here in the U.P. of Michigan, so I get to pack an awful lot of hours into these 6-7 weeks of solid fishing/year. A lot of my outpost trips sees me fishing 12-14 hours a day. The outfitters mark the maps so well that electronics aren't really necessary. If I owned one of those dedicated walleye rigs like you describe, it would just cause a lot of headaches in storing, cleaning, updating technology each year, etc. Sounds like you are very happy with your rig, and the ease in which you can just take off and go when you want. I think that is great. But I love the fly-ins. I spent a lot of time in my younger days drooling over those outpost trips as they were described in the 60's-70's Outdoor Life articles. I promised myself that one day I would get to see this part of Ontario, and experience it for myself.
