This is the In Review movie I've been waiting for most since no one I know watched it when it came out. I could not believe how much this movie resonated when the trailer looked like a B-tier DreamWorks movie. As an older brother, a movie has never hit me as hard as the first time I watched this. I cried for a solid 40 minutes straight. Loved every moment

Could of scooped Kev up for a hug when he said about losing his father, I was a few years older when I lost mine.

I really believe that Chris Pratt's character was originally for Jack Black. Just the way that he was written felt like they had Jack Black on their mind.

I dunno, I think the child like quality is so important to Chris Pratt’s character, and I think that CP brought a lot of youthful energy that was important for his arc, and learning to “grow up.” Meanwhile Jack Black is 52, so while I agree he has JB like qualities. He may have been an inspiration however…

Kevin is 100% right, Onward, Luca and Soul were all released on Disney + for free when Raya and the live-action movies (Cruella) were behind a paywall. ITS A CONSPIRACY, DISNEY IS JEALOUS OF PIXAR CONFIRMED
@koreywinicky77673 жыл бұрын
Nope, he is 100% wrong with Onward. Onward released in theaters in March and was on PVOD until May once he was pulled from theaters. I saw this in theaters and even paid the premium so my nephews could see it.

This movie wrecked me. All I could think of was my little brother, and our relationship. My dad left when I was 10 and it turned into me teaching my brother to ride his bike, watching his sports, etc. We both spent a lot of time without a father figure and it really hit home after this.

As someone who loves DnD and Magic all of the easter eggs in this movie got me. As someone whos father passed away and who has a strained relationship with my siblings this movie fucking got me.
@TrimblyWimbly3 жыл бұрын
Also I want to add that I think yalls talk about the "stereotypes" you expected kind of misses the point. Andy acts like you cant be a smart nerdy kid without liking DnD. And Nick acts like being a punk rock kid means you cant be nerdy. I know plenty of smart nerdy kids who never liked magic or RPGs. And I know a ton of people who love punk rock and also love RPGs and MTG. I think thats the entire point of these characters and talking about why they arent more stereotypical is a disservice to how true to life these characters are. Fuck stereotypes.

Like that this film is getting its praise as it kind of was overlooked when everything locked down. Surprised Andy falls into the trap of stereotyping people. His views on Ian not being a typical “nerd” is exactly why they have actual “story tellers” working at Pixar.

@majorpotty29623 жыл бұрын
I actually had been avoiding watching Onward because the core concept of two brothers trying to spend one more day with their father hit way too close to home for me. I lost my father to cancer when I was 13 and my brother was 10 and I definitely felt the same way Kevin described after finally watching it.

I can’t wait for them to review Soul. I adore that movie.
@mikekasabion3 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I think it’s funny that virtually nothing from Soul (aside from cute visuals and all age type humor) would resonate with a child. I mean the whole movie is about having regrets, and feeling like you have no purpose, which is inarguably one of the deepest and darkest themes to ever be in a kids movie. That being said, I adore the movie as well.

Nick is right that Andy and him are bringing in some tropes and holding it against the brothers. To me they are the trope of the burnout older brother so the younger brother tried to kind of correct and be more reserved and not hyper focused on any interests.

Was really afraid you guys were gonna hate it. Saw this movie for my birthday with my brothers that first weekend it was in theaters and have been disappointed that it didn't get the shot it deserved. We had been saying "Want to go on an adventure?" For late night errand runs for years before this so I was sold from the first trailer and it just totally got me

Joey, it sounds like you're gonna need to plan a trip to Orlando (when it's safer to do so) because all the restaurants you're asking for are still around there. Disney Springs has both Rainforest Cafe which is a huge erupting volcano, and T-Rex Restaurant which is animatronic dinos while you eat. Universal's Islands of Adventure has a restaurant in the Jurassic Visitor Center as well, but not the animatronic set-up you're asking for.

We have a T-Rex cafe down in Orlando Joey, you could eat with the dinosaurs and then head right to Disney World right after. The food is fine, standard bar food, but plenty of dinosaur themed drinks and animatronics

I honestly agree with Kevin. I don’t know if it would be immediately #1 but it’s definitely top 2. Maybe it’s because I relate to losing a father and have that feeling of “hey I’d go on a wild quest with my brother to get one more day with him” but that’s just me.

Kevin is 100% wrong, this was one of the last movies released in theaters in March (I saw it and paid for it) and then it was on PVOD NOT even D+ (Mulan was the first Premium D+ title) This didn't premier on D+ for sub until May or June of 2020.
