Some people are simply afraid to get hit or sometimes training with toxic people who always go 100% in sparring. I met my fair share of meatheads in sparring but usually they weren't that good since I started at a young age I always managed to teach them a lesson. But a beginner would've got seriously injured by these idiots who believed sparring is just a fight with shinpads on...

For the first 15 years I sparred 2-3x a week. The school offered 1x sparring classes for Thai, the rest was independently set up with training partners, I was an amateur Mma athlete so it was important for me to get all the work I could in. I probably only get too move at any speed about once a month now, but I don’t honestly miss it all that much. Good position fighting and a hard roll once and a while seem to scratch the itch.
