Some people are simply afraid to get hit or sometimes training with toxic people who always go 100% in sparring. I met my fair share of meatheads in sparring but usually they weren't that good since I started at a young age I always managed to teach them a lesson. For the first 15 years I sparred 2-3x a week. The school offered 1x sparring classes for Thai, the rest was independently set up with training partners, I was an amateur Mma athlete so it was important for me to get all the work I could in. String em up. Its a common practice, especially if u don't use wraps under gloves on bag , the old skin n sweat builds up for years and is an infection risk , i went to hospital from it. Better to use bateknuckle on heavy bag and get used to honest technique , no haymakers
