Thank you so much. This is a very informative video that shows how to service the actuator, rather than simply cleaning the main EGR valve. When cleaned and serviced the actuator should be so easy to move with one finger - as shown in the video. If it's stiff it will be stuck - either open, so that performance is awfully slow until 2,000 RPM, - or closed so that the light comes on due to insufficient exhaust back to the inlet manifold sensors. After performing the service instruction shown in this video the performance - and the mpg - is much improved. (I note that you can buy a new, Chinese-pierburg copy , EGR valve on eBay nowadays for about £35 - don't know if they're any good mind.) Thank you for resolving the myth of EGR valve actuator!

Thanks this videos save me of the dealer. I have the Z19DT and the solenoid was the problem ( 1st the car was jerking in the morning in first gear, the when the car was running hot, no problem I clean just the EGR, make a test drive and get a check engine light and the car has no power under 2000 rpm. Cleaned as the video and problem solved. To avoid this i use a little bit of Cooper grease. Now the engine works really smooth.

SO GREAT AND DETAILED VIDEO.. to bad that you couldn't get camera to film it a little closer :), but hey that is just me... i don't see the bracket that should be between solenoid and body... is that because it was reassembled before?? did not see if anyone asked if there is way to shut or how to shut that hole once you drilled it?? Because i had bad leak from pipes of servo and it messed up whole motor (was a lot of oil everywhere), and after 1 year my starter went off because grease got up into him, so i was wondering if i drilled hole it could also go into solenoid of EGR that is why my concern is about that hole and how to shut it, and not drill it again, but still keep it clean as possible as could... i did not drill my, but instead i just give it a good clean with WD40 till it was moving smooth (took me a while).... any thoughts on that??

Do you have to drain the coolant before removing EGR etc ?????

That can be not enough. Why you didn't clean part with valve?
@CarlosAlberto-es6qc7 жыл бұрын
Hello. Do not need to be a scientist to know how to clean the other part of the valve. If it is clogged with charcoal, you obviously have to clean it... And the video refers to: disassemble and cleaning the solenoid coil Thanks
@KrzysztofZaremba7 жыл бұрын
Carlos Daniel Of course, but valve part should work smoothly as well I always remove the spring from valve part to be sure is clean.

Hi. My answer stays the same, see the video the answer starts right at the beginning 0:57 If you find another way to remove the inside of the coil tell me :-) Thanks

So he could drive the inard's out of the solenoid so he could clean them, don't put to bigga hole in the end or you will cut through the wires to the coil.

You may not believe it, I did not hit my fingers. Really watching the video it looks like I it hits the fingers.
