Wish I had found this video a few weeks ago. My issue was the pipe had dislodged/jumped off, therefore getting the incorrect volume of air. It was spitting engine lights on for me now and again for crankshaft positioning sensor but irregularly. Cars sorted now but spent nearly £400 on a new ECU, getting the ECU coded, coil pack, mafs, plugs, for it to just be a pipe that wasn't in place

Hi, just bought a zafira 1.6 petrol 2006 starded fine went for test drive all good , drive home about 60 miles all good went out on the evening started fine went back home thought not a bad car for the money anyway next morning got in car turned key all lights came on as they should final turn to crank the engine nothing just a pretty dashboard if I wanted to look a pretty lights I'd just look a my Christmas tree lol , so turned off and on nothing done this several times still nothing 😢 sat pondering what have I done this is my sixth car this year and getting a little fed up as you may imagine put key back in and it started! ive checked under fuse board all clean and dry , ECU earth is clean plenty of fuel in tank battery is very good around 13 volts the car runs faultlessly when it starts have you any ideas please cheers Dean 🎄

Great video. Thank you. The pipe that was blocked - is it something to do with Idle Air Control? If not, where does the vacuum tube attached to it go to?

Just correcting my earlier post. I believe the carbon deposit blocked breather pipe is connected to the EGR.

hi mate my is the same it not runing right not geting much power not taking over.. to but the pip at the back of it was off put it on//// not the same runing right so do you think same as the one in the video

Jason Moody hi mate impossible for me to say as it could be lots of reasons will have to do a bit of testing and find out exactly what's wrong

Mine was blocked too...i used a carburator spray and apaper clip to open...its enogh the paper clip...or i have to use a bigger one?

That hole gets gunked up badly sometimes, you should also clean the 2 breather pipes/crankcase ventilation hoses on these engines, the larger breather pipe gets clogged badly. 1:40 those 2 pipes that connect to valve cover.

when u say running bad do u mean like keeps cutting out judders and wont go above 50mph

max cheesman on this particular one it would not stay running for long would not go above 30 and a lot of shaking and missing

bodgit and leggit garage the car im dealing with will only stay running for about 10 minutes (driving) then act as if it has stalled but won't run again untill it's been left off for about 5 minutes

max cheesman it sounds like you've got a heat related problem most Senses Fail when they are hot but the problem is you need to know what sensor do you have any engine light on

max cheesman unfortunately it will be too difficult for me to try and guess what sense that has failed they will need to be tested with multimeters and oscilloscope there is no way I can try and guess what sensor is gone and I do not want to make you spend money for the wrong sensor
