Good Job Luis. Sometimes it is refreshing when this "just cruising along" type of repair is all what's needed, rather than chasing wires and taking things into bits to access awkwardly located parts 😉

Hello sir!! Can you please inform me about the pressure milibars in the dpf are in a good healthy diesel car?at Idle and with load when we accelerate? You say at idle below 10?10 is the max at idle? And on acceleration? I want to have a base in my mind to compare in a healthy diesel engine. Thank you very much!
@LMAutoRepairs2 жыл бұрын
Each car is slightly different... But yes, idling I would look at below 10... under load close high rev, let's say 4k rpm I would not like see more than 100 or so... But again, each car is slightly different... this is just a starting point... 👍👍👍

Hi Luis I have a diesel Swift 1.3 DDis with DPF, one glow plug is broken and I have noticed that DPF regeneration now takes much longer and happens more often. I am not sure the DPF regeneration and soot accumulation occurrence have anything to do with faulty glow plug but I thing yes. At least based on this video and I guess glow plug operates during acceleration as well not only before engine start. So I can imagine a worse soot formation on that faulty cylinder that can cause more frequent DPF regen request. Am I wrong? No DPF related error code only faulty Glow plug and can be felt on uphill drive kind of not as quick as before feeling... very tiny power reduction almost non sensible one... Now I look a garage to replace it as I do not have mood to break my glow plug into the head :) I could buy a thin wall 10mm wrench but no thanks :)

Most modern diesel engines will need the glow plugs not just to start when cold... Yes, they are used during regenerations, when the engine us running "cooler", etc... It all depends on the engine strategy... I would focus to have that glow plug sorted before anything else... 👍👍👍

Hi there, havong the same issue. Have the P2458 fault code. Regen duration fault. Jist wondering how you clear this fault.
@LMAutoRepairs Жыл бұрын
Check that all the parameters for a successful regeneration are being reached and met... if one or multiple are not, the regeneration might takes longer than it should, and might be aborted causing that fault... Check live data during the regeneration... make sure you have no faults that can affect the dpf system... 👍👍👍

@@LMAutoRepairs thanjs for your speedy reply. Only problem i have now is the car has gone i to limp mode and cant get any decent speed. Every time i go to clesr fault code comes back in a matter of seconds.

Good morning. A great video, but, how did you know it was doibg a DPF Regeneration??? Was there a light or was it the data on your scan Tool. Crazy that the garage changed those parts, but didnt notice the Glow plug issue..

You can monitor on the scan tool when a regen is happening... 👍👍👍

Hey Luis, Great video as always! Superb talent for diagnosing car problems. I'm no car mechanic but wouldn't have been advisable to change the whole set of glow plugs? Would be cheaper and far cost effective in preventative car maintenance? Cheers 😀
@LMAutoRepairs2 жыл бұрын
Well, normal glow plugs, I would definitely advise... these they cost over £100 each... So, I would say to replace them when they fail... who knows the others might last another few years... That said, the owner could well get me all 4... but he didn't, I guess after he realised how much they cost...😋 Hope it makes sense... 👍👍👍

Used for cylinder balance, timing advance (quietness) and also limiting fuelling under certain conditions.

Hi, have same problem on 1.6 cdti, mileage is 190k km. 4 glow plug malfunction, after engine start dpf appears and 5-10 min from cold start limp mode, last regen 1600 km before. thinking new glow plug is solution, Although all mechanics in my country says thats no way glow plug impact on regeneration. thanks for video :)

Glow plugs are important for the regenerations... though it all depends on the car strategy... I would sort the glow plugs and would go from there... 👍👍👍
