I'm sorry, but this is simply amazing. Maybe because I'm a bit older (Gen X), but even as recently as three years ago I thought I would never see anything close to this in my lifetime. The path seems open now to build Star Wars-level humanoid robots (possibly even better than droids like C-3PO or K-2SO) very soon. With the intelligence of GPT-5 (even GPT-4o would be great)? This unit will translate dozens of languages fluently, converse with you fluently, answer complex questions fluently and at a level you request in terms of complexity. Finally, it will perform complex tasks fluently. I don't understand anyone being jaded about something like this, it's absolutely mind-boggling.

One of the tell-tail signs that a bot is 'Tele-Operated' is that it is immobile. Notice how the Bot never changes its stance or even moves its feet. Mind you tele-op'd bots are prerequisite of the learning stage.... it just seems very strange that their other series does not walk either....just rolls. I am one of the ones who noticed NEO long time ago and said it would be one of the top 3 with Optimus, Figure ... of the 3 optimus has the best chance at mass marketing because of Teslas manufacturing capabilities.

So, as a mom of both human and furry babies, 95% of cleaning is picking crap off the floor because that's where these babies live and you know, gravity leaves things. I find it frustrating that the height of robot technology is that they can precariously bend over half way and pick up an empty backpack. Until they can reach under the couch to retrieve a toy, pick up the 50 Lego pieces off the floor, clean slime out of the carpet or figure out where your toddler left her sippy cup of milk so you don't find it a week later, what's the point? In fact I would take a robot that only took care of the ground to 2 feet only, just to save my poor back. Maybe actually ask potential users of the technology what they need instead of having 25 year grad students make assumptions. I don't need a robot to make me espresso or load the dishwasher. That's the easy stuff.

I'm somewhat skeptical of this one. I keep thinking its a teleoperated robot. There is probably a guy in some exoskeleton suit that controls how the robot moves. It could also be that it was trained in a teleoperation setup. The movements are not just fluid, but also exhibit a human "style" form of moving which is what makes me suspicious.

Apparently this robot works off of tele-operation (the robot iscontrolled by a human with a headset and hand-held controllers remotely) and that's a core component of how the robot functions, especially for the earlier stages. For anyone interested in learning more, go check out the YT video "I Lived With a Humanoid Robot for 48 Hours" (By S3), there is a lot of talk in the comments about it. I was really hype at first but hearing it was operated by a person makes much more sense, even as cool as it looks lol

I also see MagSafe connectors to provide power and high speed communication. It will extend the battery life life since moving around will be power intensive. A lot of tasks like folding clothes will be in a limited area. Possibly sitting in an elderly persons room and monitoring their sleep. If the person needed to use the bathroom, the robot would already be there.

I do expect this to continue until we have something like the Star Wars variety of droids for whatever tasks we want them for, including personal care and assistance. It's a good observation that since our environments are designed for humans that a humanoid robot will be able to navigate them well and be better accepted in the environment by humans. Some people will certainly prefer a more utilitarian approach, for example the robot shopping carts for making deliveries and perhaps eventually shopping in stores with/for us. And I'm sure someone will make an R2-D2 style droid if for no other reason than nostalgia although I do expect those droids to be rare because their form factor doesn't work that well.

There's no way there's a human in a suit unless that backpack was filled with packing peanuts and weighed absolutely nothing. And even still, it is absolutely not how a human would do that. If there's a person in a suit his shoulder is killing him from the backpack and waving like that. I think it's legit.

Why is everybody wondering whether or not it's a person in a suit its obviously not... No offense but you're not really adding anything to the conversation. The big thing these companies actually do however is remote operate or telle operate the robots. This should be the focus and it's not clear whether or not that's what's going on. People are just so worried about whether or not it's a person in a suit stop it's not just please stop commenting about it... Like there are legitimate questions to be answered here.

Figure 2, Optimus, Neo. Now there are 3. Neo looks like it will be highly capable when it is done. It has triple jointed fingers like Optimus and Figure 2 and that is a really big deal. It would be interesting to know what the price point will be and if they have the ability to mass produce them.

Nobody in the industry is shocked. If you know anything about robots, you know what this is: First to market. Nothing more and nothing less. This is NOT the most advanced robot we have, by a mile. The only people who are shocked by this are people who have no idea what else is there.

I think since the people who will buy these at first will be wealthy people, a lot of appliances will be marketed as robot compliant. They will be fancy and offer operations suited to a robots ability. In fact some appliances will have a Bluetooth or WiFi connection so the robot can actuate them wirelessly. They will be higher end stuff.

It's interesting to see how the robot will handle heavier objects. Obviously, this backpack was empty, otherwise he would have had to analyze the estimated weight in order to balance his body.

Sad, but true for most of us here in the comment section. We’re waiting for the female version of this robot, which is why we eagerly await each new uploaded video for a sign!

Why do they make them look so uncanny valley? That thing looks like it’s going to murder her later that night. They need to partner with whomever makes realdolls or whatever and design something that isn’t a horrifying nightmare.
