Frederick Shull for reals. That’s not what “regulated” meant in 1776.. What it really means in the context of the constitution is “to put you or maintain order.” So “a well- regulated militia” just means a well trained fighting force. So when you re-read the second amendment with that in mind it means, “a well trained militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms will not be infringed.”

The constitution defacto does not and has never defended individual gun ownership rights. What's more, the constitution - the bill of rights - has been changed more than a few times for very important reasons. In other words, even if you were right - it makes no difference. The funniest part of this video to me was when that female politician said “there’s no data that shows a good guy with a gun is a deterrent for a bad guy with a gun.” There actually is data, about 500,000 to 3,000,000 plus per year, which is the amount of lives are saved by defensive uses of firearms by law abiding citizens. If you’d like one situation where a bad guy was stopped by a good guy with a gun, look into the Southerland Springs shooting in Texas. It was probably more deadly than the last 3 shootings combined, where if I remember correctly, 20 plus people were killed and more would’ve been if the shooter hadn’t been stopped by an NRA member with an AR-15.

Another example is the Louie's restaurant shooting here in Oklahoma City. Dude walked into the restaurant and shot two people. He walked out of the restaurant and, if memory serves, he was walking toward a nearby restaurant. Two good guys retrieved their guns from their cars and took out the bad guy. And the only one from that incident who died was the gunman; the two people he shot survived.

I personally only conceal carry, because with an open-carry...if there is an attacker somewhere, I'd likely be a priority target since I could fight back. I'm fine with people open-carrying, but you are definitely presenting yourself as a target to evil-doers. Not to mention, any mass shooter would have body armor, multiple magazines, multiple guns, or do the smart thing and conceal his weapon to a public area, gun free or not, since they're criminals and don't really care for laws. Open carry also helps empower those who can't conceal carry their handgun to be able to carry it openly without a need for a license, further increasing personal liberty. Not to mention, any would-be criminals would think twice if they see multiple armed citizens open-carrying their handguns.

I support carrying gun to some extent, I think a hand gun should be the maximum type of gun to carry in public. You don't really need an AR to defend yourself. This will decrease the chance of mass shooting if anything goes wrong. And maybe allow the big guns (Rifles and the good stuff) at your own property/ home.
