Hello, I have the Jumper T16 Pro and I noticed in the the outputs on the radio that the throttle (CH3) arrow is not working properly. When I throttle up, the arrow is to the left, but when I throttle to midway, the arrow jumps to the right, this is causing my quad to dance left to right on its on when throttling. I calibrated my radio, but the issue remains...Could you tell me what could be wrong? So far the channel mapping is correct... Thank you so much in advance..

Only thing I can think of is it could be the ribbon cable issue that's been going around. Have you replaced the ribbon cables with the newer versions of them? If not, sounds like you should (or at least open up back of transmitter band reseat the ribbon cable connecters)

Hello, this is one of the first video I have watched that explained how is open TX and how to use it in a simple way. I want your advice, as I am new to the hobby. I have Dji fpv drone and I am doing really good in manual mode (acro) now I decided to move to real fpv world. I will always order my quad with HD Caddx or DJI Air Unit. so, I have an option either to go with dji controller or Tango 2 crossfire or radio master Tx16x, if decided to go with dji controller it will be easier but other way will have a big learning curve, Do you think it really worth that learning? or dji controller is good enough. Range, latency, SAFTY thanks a lot and keep it up

Learning OpenTX or EdgeTX is a new (and can be challenging) experience. You can do it easily if you're excited and committed to learning. If you get frustrated easily and quit often, you may want to stick with DJI. However, I'm sure you're not someone who quits as you're already looking to expand your horizons. I, personally fly RadioMaster TX16S, Zorro ExpressLRS, and RadioMaster TX12 transmitters. I use Crossfire or ExpressLRS protocols on all my quads. I use HDZero (previously Shark Byte) digital FPV and also some analog. I have OpenTX tutorial videos available. EdgeTX is just an offshoot of OpenTX. I also have the Fast Track FPV Course you may find useful tmacfpv.thinkific.com/courses/fast-track-fpv

TMAc, great job in getting the several key concepts across , I really appreciate the graphics and time you've taken to create your videos .. I do have a question tho regarding the RSSI mapping out to a OUTPUT Channel like CHAN 12.. I fly gliders and often do map the RSSI and RSSI- (and other telemetry values to one of the telemetry pages in the Tx or an audible alert but since RSSI Is an input to the radio coming via telemetry from the plane/quad why would you want to send it back on a servo channel? Is this so a flight controller can use it or so you can see it in a heads-up FPV display?
@TMacFPV
@TMacFPV 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Jim, great to hear from you. Yes, you are correct. It's to get the value into the FPV on-screen display (OSD)=heads-up display

Hey Stuart! Welcome to FPV! You're gonna love it! I'm very happy you found this useful. Had been wanting to do this content for awhile as when I started there wasn't much of anything out there which described how the information flow works. It helps me to understand things when I look at the big picture first sometimes, then I can dive into the details if need be. Thought perhaps other folks may also learn this way too. Be sure to check out some of my Playlists like Learn FPV (kzbin.info/aero/PLKAiYAaTdvmo3OI5g-iNFOpKKR4LRhggN ) and also the free resources on my site at: tmacfpv.com/fpv-free-resources/ . @@TMacFPV you have hit the nail on the head with this one as laying out the conceptual model on how this info architecture works and then going into the detail is a great way to contextualise the way in which to think about how the radio will work and lays the foundation for future learning. i have subbed your channel now and will definitely look at your other content. keep up the great work!

Great video. I'm having a problem getting my right slider setup on my Jumper T16 Pro. I hope you can help. Went through both of your videos to update the internal radio and update to openTX latest nightly. When I go to calibration everything calibrates *except* the right slider. It's like it's not being seen. I can however see it as Analog 11 input in the Hardware-> debug analog screen. I can't figure out how to assign Analog input 11 to Right Slider in the same screen. If I go to the Right Slider in the hardware screen it gives me three letters I can set. If I set "A11" or just "11" it still wont move during calibration. I'm confused. What values do I put in that field to set it?
@TMacFPV
@TMacFPV 5 жыл бұрын
My right slider for those 3 characters in the Hardware Screen are 3 dashes --- . All switches, sliders, etc. have those same --- and they all calibrate fine. Maybe a faulty connection with plug /connector inside radio? I've heard a few folks have had that
@fullwatts7040
@fullwatts7040 5 жыл бұрын
@@TMacFPV Thanks for the reply. I first suspected a faulty connection, swapped both ribbon cables but the problem persisted. I would continue to suspect a faulty switch or connection but when I move the right slider I get a value change in analog input 11. If the slider was bad I would get nothing there instead of a changing value. This is why I'm flummoxed. This leads me to think that somehow analog 11 isn't bound to right slider for some reason, which is why I wanted to specifically assign analog 11 to right slider in that screen.
@TMacFPV
@TMacFPV 5 жыл бұрын
@@fullwatts7040 According to the Jumper T16 Manual, those 3 characters are just to give it a short 3-character name, not to assign anything to it. Manual says: "3.2. Hardware This page lists the hardware physical input device types. A short three-character name can be given for identification on the setup page. The calibration of the joystick and knob is also on this page. "
@fullwatts7040
@fullwatts7040 5 жыл бұрын
@@TMacFPV Thanks for that. I was wondering what the three character thing was for. seems a waste for you to assign it a name with that field. makes more sense for the ability to assign it another input, at least it seems more practical. This brings me to my next question/troubleshooting step. I now will need to revert this back to JumperTX to check if it is working in jumper TX. I sent a video to Jumper and asked them to replace the slider, or more accurately, send me a slider to replace myself. I have no doubt they will want me to revert it to JumperTX before they proceed with support. Add to that I never bothered to look if it was ever working in JumperTX. ( i just updated it to OpenTX right out of the box new) If it was working in JumperTX, then it's not hardware and it's a OpenTX thing. When I tried last night to revert it the radio froze. I think it tried to read the internal module version and had a stroke. To your knowledge is there a need or a way to revert the internal radio to stock firmware? Alternately do you know a way to revert to JumperTX? Thanks again for your help.

What is this beta flight you mentioned?
@TMacFPV
@TMacFPV 3 жыл бұрын
Betaflight is the firmware used on most flight controllers for FPV quadcopters. You can program it using the Betaflight Configurator to tune your quadcopter (similar to tuning your car) to fly smoothly, and do various things through actions on your transmitter sticks. If you're interested, I go over complete Betaflight and OpenTX setup for FPV quadcopters in my "Rookie FPV Pilot friendly" Fast Track FPV Course. what was the purpose of the RSSI mix on channel 12?
@TMacFPV
@TMacFPV 5 жыл бұрын
If you're asking me why I put it on Ch 12 as opposed as to another channel, what I said in the video was "force of habit." What I meant by that is I try to keep all of my models as close to the same as possible (same switches for same functions, etc.). I started putting RSSI on channel 12 long time ago & honestly I don't even remember why! You can put it on whatever channel you'd like
@ltdorn
@ltdorn 5 жыл бұрын
@@TMacFPV oh sorry... i have no idea why you put RSSI on any channel. what the purpose of feeding rssi to any channel?
@TMacFPV
@TMacFPV 5 жыл бұрын
@@ltdorn RSSI is received signal strength indicator. It tells you how strong your control signal is. Put it on a channel to transmit it back to flight controller so you can see it in your goggle's on-screen display (OSD) and keep tabs on it visually while flying if you'd like so you can modify flight if necessary before losing your control signal completely. I use this method AND with a full telemetry receiver I also have voice alerts to verbally tell me when RSSI is low and critical. So, I have 2 methods of being informed of low RSSI (about to lose control of quadcopter)

Man I have been trying to get inputs in beta flight for 4 days now and can’t get it can bind quad to t16 pro but that’s it
@TMacFPV
@TMacFPV 4 жыл бұрын
Delbert, it could be many things. I have no idea what steps you have taken or your level of experience. Its difficult to help someone without specific information. I'll give it a shot. So, first, with your props OFF, you need to make sure your battery is plugged into your quad when connected to Betaflight. Some receivers require this. Secondly, assuming you have done everything else correctly, you may have inadvertently changed "modes" on the receiver when you bound it to transmitter. See this video for how to fix that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jamVZYOHZdiWm6s
