I found this just today. Thank you for such a great list. I first liked classical music when my 4th-grade teacher, Mrs. O''neal, asked the class who would want to go see "Girl of the Golden West." I had never heard of that opera, heck I had never even heard of the word "opera" nor "Puccini" nor the title of this opera. But I figured maybe this is a way to get out of class. I quickly raised my hand, along with about 4 other 4th grade students. That was the beginning: school year, 4th grade, 1949, South Fort Worth Elementary, 73 years ago.

Opera is quite peaceful! I often listen when I need to disappear when I have a stressful! Opera is my escape into a different world! Most times I am at peace within the first ten minutes! Once I am calm I can at my desk for hours or sometimes even days writing, often about about my adventures to my peaceful other world! Thank you for bringing peace to such caps in this world! My escape!

Compreender e ouvir uma ópera ou uma ária de ópera requer um intelecto especial, conhecimento de música e educação musical. Li em alguns comentários que os jovens também começaram a ouvir ópera.
