Hello, After watching the week for video on operational definitions, I have a question. How does perception play a role in the interpretation of the defined measurables? Example: A math savvy person creating a test that is heavily centered around math proof and axioms. All measurables and operatives have been clearly defined. A researcher, who is not as math savvy, attempts to replicate the test, follows the operations and fails to replicate the results. A second researcher, who is math savvy, replicates the operations and finds the expected results. One researcher has validated the operations and the other has invalidated the operations and so, how does perception play a role for those who do not possess the skills to produce the proper perception for operational validation? This can extend into other areas where integrated teams or coalitions must work together for a single objective although they have different knowledge bases. Thank you for your help.
