Theres a podcast on spotify called metal talks and Opeth (Mike) did like an hour or so. He covers his career since the beginnings and tell one or two funny stories, awesome listening.

No other band that I've heard before has evolved / experienced as much as yours, Mikael. I think this is the most important thing to do as an artist (I'm an 18 year old artist and I also work hard on my first album. I want to follow this direction of evolution too). I saw a true passion for music in your eyes some days ago, at a show. Great job, keep it like this! : ) From a big fan.

Sounding good so far. One thing Opeth has always had are melodic, emotional aspects in their music, at least since To Bid You Farewell. Or like the outro to Credence - no shredding, just simple, captivating melody, often with a bittersweet touch. You can hear it in their more recent work too like Elysium Fields or Marrow of the Earth. Everybody talks about Opeths death metal sound and it's awesome but looking at the entire body of work, its becoming clear that death metal perhaps was never Opeths main trait to begin with. It puts their newer work in perspective, for those who are still reeling after Heritage lol.

the fact that there was a song sung in Swedish surprised Ola Englund even tho he had a hard time understanding the words! lol (i guess even Sweden has it's accents) also Venenum looks like a word from ThaumCraft for Venom or poison... could it be that the Aspects from Thaumcraft are all Sweden Words? Humanus, Lucrum, Messis, Tenebrae, Fames, Mortuus, Lux, Gelum, Aer, Ignis, Victus... i put quite a few while there is a ton more just in case there was a few that might just be plain Latin or some thing... EDIT: i put all of them in Google Translate... it is Latin... lol
@theepicslayer7sss1015 жыл бұрын
i just had fun with Google Translate putting a little story that i made randomly from the words i put there in Latin... putting this phrase in English and translating it to Latin and back keeps making new phrases that sounds like some proclamation of some prophet or something lol... put This: Human who had Greed on the Grains of Darkness until Hunger Caused Death of the Light that Froze the Air and Flames of Life.

@@Regarded69 well i live in Canada in New-Brunswick in the French Region and just 20 KM to the next town they pronounce a lot of words differently because of the different accent. bowling pins called "Quilles", they pronounce "Kills" and them not speaking English makes them unaware of how funny that sound when they announce how many point they made... so i can kind of understand since from one town to the next there is already heavy accent changes, then outside or a Range it becomes mixed English and then Full English... and do not worry about information... i do not mind learning. rather swim in knowledge than drown in ignorance!
