@@Worldsgreatestdouchebag You're delusional. You don't have to dig to find OnA being hilarious. Howard stopped being funny in the late 90s after only a decade. Idiots like you found his humor hilarious. All the while Howard hates you and laughs in your face as he turned into the sissy Nancy that he used to rag on, that got him big in the first place. Howard is 9 years older than Opie. But of course Opie, born in 1963, is a "child of the 80's". These guys had to know that a solid chunk of their audience also listened to Howard. When I hear this kind of stuff, with Ant just killing, it's always tempered by the knowledge that Opie is not even at Scorch level, much less Howard level.

I have a very hard time believing that a radio personality doesn't have the free will option to leave a company/station if his/her contract has expired, even if that employer wants to match, or even outbid another offer. Under what legal authority would that occur? They aren't in a union, like the NBA Players' Association, in which a right to match offers to restricted free agents exists. The only way that would be the case is if it was written into the previous contract that had expired, although it is iffy that that could even be enforced if that very contract had expired.

The jealousy from these guys is palatable, I mean really I'm not a huge fan of Howard but Howard turned out to be 100 percent correct in almost everything he said in the press conference....Joel Hollander did get fired, David Lee Roth's show only lasted three months, and guess what as of 2017 CBS radio was bought by Entercom. Howard was literally spot on with everything he said in the press conference. Here's the best part once all the dust settled Howard all on his own ended up being worth over half a billion dollars meanwhile the only one left standing from the O and A show is fucking Jim Norton...Love or hate Howard he's clearly more of a boss then any of these schmucks.

@Jade Runner Bro your reading comprehension skills need work. I literally say in my comment that I'm not a fan of Howard and nowhere in my comment do I make an "appeal to popularity argument." Look at the facts, while O and A were slapping their knees about Joel Hollander being fired, because apparently that's a ridiculous statement, and saying Howard was loosing his mind everything Howard predicted was right. Hollander, David Lee Roth, CBS radio everything....he was right. The END. Also considering O and A literally devoted 40 min to this issue with non stop canned bullshit laughter screams jealousy. "Outsider" The fuck are you an "insider?" Even one of the O and A fans calls these guys out for their jealousy. They were literally reveling in this issue and hoping for the worst for Howard...If that doesn't scream jealously I can't say anything to convince you otherwise.

I know this is late but I used to listen to Howard when he was on FM radio and he always talked about going to Sirius. He always talked about being the first with his type of audience to go over to satellite radio. He never mentioned the stock options though. If they want to sue him for talking about or promoting satellite I get it. Howard is telling the truth. You guys clearly don’t listen to his show.

I never, ever listened to these soccer moms, but 10:47 is very effective. He probably should have just done a show that parodied Howard's every day.

Stern's move is actually even more underhanded. The move wasn't just a secret between him an Sirius, it was known by Stern, Buchwald, and Mel Karmazin (who was the CEO of Sirius and who previously had run Infinity Broadcasting. This little tribe of bad actors are all well known by O&A

How wrong was everyone on this show? Howard wasn’t fined a dime, he lost nothing and Sirius went no where. Opie just was dying for Howard to sink and nothing happened to him.

@@alexd2555 I'm right. Howard may deserve credit for being the father of edgy radio, but O&A surpassed him. They were *WAY* more entertaining, they were *WAY* funnier, had better skits, and better conversations. Anthony's personality alone was funnier and more entertaining than Howard's, on top of that, they always had comedians like Patrice O'neal, Bill Burr and Louis CK hanging out on their show which made it even more entertaining.

Meanwhile, the Opie and Anthony show died a painful death of miserable ratings while Stern is still the flagship of satellite radio. So there's that.

He was talking about leaving for a while before actually doing it... ever heard them say "god i cant wait to go to eh eh eh". That lawsuit was definitely pre-meditative on Mel's part.

Wow, the irony of that Stern clip that the caller called in with. In the clip he says he doesn't want to be living on his giant ranch doing a radio show from home that he's making his listeners pay for, That's literally what he's doing now, I always notice from when I flip over to his channel now on Sirius XM that he's either on a 3-month vacation or broadcasting from his house. He will be the last broadcaster to go back to the radio station but I have an odd feeling that he never will and this will be the way he ends. He's going to do the show from home, terrified of covet while broadcasting from his house in his '70s. Also what I think is odd, is that once things started opening up and people started going back to work in the seriusXM offices when a gas or a collar would ask Howard when he plans on rejoining the rest of the world or going back to the offices to broadcast he gets angry and calls them stupid or changes the subject, I think this pandemic is going to be the thing that ends him for good. Once his contract is up I think he will retire from satellite and I think part of it will be because he's never going back out into the world again because he's still afraid of catching the flu.
