Tarantino admitted that the "commode story" was stupidly written and acted, both the part where the black cop is on the roof describing how to tell it and Tim Roth's telling of it. @kennybeans61153 жыл бұрын
@@troymcclure681 Well, we’re still talking about it. Ha, jk. Is it a masterpiece? Nope. Was it carried out and done better than most within the genre? No doubt. Do you not agree that the first act, with introducing the characters, the gritty unsure setting of the Ganglands of LA, and the situation at hand was engaging and interesting? And then through the middle, along for the ride with Denzel and the Dept.’s corruption and schemes for the day? All well done. (Remember, it’s not about what it’s about, it’s about how it’s shown and conveyed that makes it better than most involving this type of premise. What I mean is It’s not what you say, but how you say it.) And the final act was especially well done and satisfactory. The tension involving Denzel and him selling out Hawke to the Mexicans, and a random good deed toward one of their nieces is what saves his life was played out well. Granted, that troupe is overused, but well deserved here nonetheless. Denzel defeated by the rookie, losing all of his standing and power within the community, and the Russians collecting their due at the stoplight to end the movie? Come on man, what more do you want? Even I think it’s slightly overrated, but I still can acknowledge that it’s pretty good. Your thoughts?

Training Day is overrated, but it's more to do with the fact that it doesn't truly deliver on the concept. It was advertised at the time to be some sort of Sidney Lumetisq, French Connection, To Live And Die In LA cop drama moral dilemma picture! It wasn't at all! It starts grounded and real, loses it's way in the second act, and divulges into a cut and paste good vs bad cop b-movie with a silly over the top screaming Denzel before minutes later being gunned down by these Russian mobsters brought as an almost afterthought in the final half. Take Denzel's character and put it in Q & A with Nick Nolte! That's a true gritty cop movie with true gray moral questions and dilemmas.

Scare face is definitely overrated. The only thing I like about it is some of the cool lines in it.

Scarface overrated? Are you fucking kidding me. It's like GTA game movie version. (and pretty realistic as well how things worked back in the days).

I'm not a Trekkie but I enjoy the Star Trek movies. Star Trek 1 sucks on ice. 2 is Oscar worthy. 3 is fine. 4 has a lot of comedy. It's an aquired taste but I quite enjoy it. 5 was weird and not great. 6 is pretty good; not quite as good as 2 but the second best in the series.
