As many times as I've listened to this, still the worst part is the way Earl acts when he first picks up the phone. Him pretending to be casual and relaxed. He knows full well that O&A are calling him because he fucked up their t.v. but he acts like it's just another day. His sleepy, "yo, what's happening" makes me wanna reach thru the phone and choke him. Earl is legit nuts.

Way back when, I felt bad for Earl. All these years later relistening to all the Earl segments and hearing him on Bennington, I understand. I get why Lilly didnt fuck him, why he lives with his parents, why hes a busboy, why Opie turned his back on him, why the intern ultimately became his boss.

Anybody know what the Kenny getting in trouble thing was that they mentioned in the beginning of the clip?

Ern Dogg Probably the time Kenny did an open-mic comedy spot, and was basically discredited as a detective for violating a morality clause.

Does anybody know the intro song that they come onto the air to ? I know I know it, but only hearing that small part of it I cannot for the life of me remember & it’s playing on my mind something chronic.

Earl got setup, He touched the volume control at 7:30 PM and 8 minutes of the Grammys where recorded at 8:00 PM and then nothing. Clearly they fucked with this guy.

@@jennpenn5 I think Opie did know Grammy talk would be shit. But those were always the O&A bits that were hilarious in my opinion, because Opie knew Anthony and Jimmy would gradually start riffing about anyone who looked like shit that night or had suffered a public tragedy, etc and it would turn into something unexpectedly hilarious. When Opie embraced his role as the straight man, I think he was excellent. He eventually ruined everything because he was insecure about his place on the show, but they had several good years. This particular era was Opie's best, imo.

Love O & A but Ron was right with the “why” when told they needed the Grammy’s… who cares, it’s always garbage but I do love Earl in the barrel 😂 FAILDOZER!! He is embarrassingly bad at everything especially lying. No wonder he served burgers for 9+ years 😂
