But those were always the O&A bits that were hilarious in my opinion, because Opie knew Anthony and Jimmy would gradually start riffing about anyone who looked like shit that night or had suffered a public tragedy, etc and it would turn into something unexpectedly hilarious. When Opie embraced his role as the straight man, I think he was excellent. He eventually ruined everything because he was insecure about his place on the show, but they had several good years. This particular era was Opie's best, imo.
