Nolan really outdid himself with this one......and the fact that hoyte had to carry the huge imax camera by himself for many of the shots is mind blowing and impressive as hell.

Oppenheimer, Killers of the flower moon, The creator and John wick 4 all have great cinematography to compete in the competition. But Hoyte Van Hoytema's work is powerful, because each shot is pure genius and I hope he earns it.
@nolle66309 ай бұрын
Nah Killers of the flower moon's cinematography is just meaningless shots, even though they look stunning they don't bring anything to the story, the creator is just computer generated, Yes Hoyte Van Hoytema did it the best

Watching Oppenheimer at AMC Lincoln Square IMAX 70mm is very easily the greatest cinematic experience of my life. When you watch Oppy putting on his hat and walking through Los Alamos as "American Prometheus" blares at you... man, he feels like a God walking among humans.

For Hoyte to say "For me the movie is very complete, i'm very proud of it actually" encompasses the effort put in while also validating all of it...given how self-critical and hard-to-please these creative geniuses are...Christopher Nolan's best film, this decade's best film...i hope Chris, Rdj, Hoyte and my man Cilian bag the academy's this year, it'll be a shame if they dont but won't take anything away!

I sat next to Hoyte on a plane. He was on his way to shoot a commercial in L.A. At that time, he said it was his bread and butter, I guess he won't be doing that any longer. What a master! And a very down-to-earth person as well.

"I'm very proud of it, actually...to be honest." Hoyte is so humble, saying this like it's not incredibly obvious that he SHOULD be proud of his work
