welp this is the danger with text I guess. I was tryna be sarcastic but clearly it didn't come across. It's a game and 100% about having fun I was trying, clearly unsuccessfully to poke fun at tryhards who never have fun. Not an alt btw just played the games when I was a kid and recently got into the game GG still really struggle with mixed base but was fun to see how you dismantled me. :)

Flak inflicted 6400 funds of damage on Md Tank but the counterattacks back on the two Mechs inflicted 3900 funds of damage so that was a net positive for the Egg at 16:16

That's a wild wild map design. Honestly, I think missiles are the gamechanger unit here. Break the pipeseem closest to your base (using a mech is great idea), put the missiles in the place of broken pipeseem and boom, airport-lock. If your opponent wants to get rid of it, he has to overextend almost to your base. Adder, Koal, Jess or Lash could use their power to get the missiles in position in just 1 turn, which makes them the best picks if you want to employ this strategy.

Oh man, I love AWBW trashtalk 😆 Once I met a Player named "unbearable stench". He seemed like a nice guy and I asked what flavour the stench is. He asked to confirm what I asked for. So I did. Then the answer from him, describing the flavour, of that unbearable stench, was one of the best comedic things I have read in my life. It was poetry. How exact and precise he described it. And so absurdly funny to put in the effort for my silly qustion. It was like he waited that someone asked about his name, this exact question. I wish I could share it, but it's lost. it's always so weird seeing what people do with rivers, shoals, and seas in these maps. Making areas look watery while not actually having any space a regular ship can go. Like, I see two Ports, but there's only one Sea tile adjacent to them, so the most you could do is stuff a Battleship or Carrier or something into one. All the rest of the tiles are only traversable by.... Landers and Black Boats, I guess.

I find that Medium Tank combat effectiveness vs standard Tanks can drop off pretty fast. Medium Tanks tend to start to really lose their edge when receiving Tank attacks at 7 HP (on plains) and the opposing Tanks are clearly winning when hitting Medium Tanks at 5 HP or below. Medium Tanks (and Neos) really don't want to attack into a Tank swarm by themselves without backup from their own Tanks. You really should have healed that 5 HP Medium Tank up instead of throwing it away in the northeast like that (around 15:00). I do try to keep my B-Copters away from Flak/Jugger/Nell Infantry when an enemy power is imminent (my Egg Cup 2 round 11 match comes to mind), but the same doesn't hold true against Tanks with multiple terrain stars. Attacking into those during a luck power with Infantry can still be a great way to get your Infantry forces shredded, and then you wind up losing the Infantry vs Infantry battles afterwards (my Egg Cup 2 round 2 match).

Flak really is a fun pick for disarming the opponent and getting them to not think critically about the numbers. Mangs mentioned a few of the examples; things like sending a bcopter into range of Flak infantry is a dangerous move.

There is an art to playing Flak, and it's in taking the "good engagements" before popping the (super)power and using the dispersion to score a few of his goofy ahh infantry hits. Unironically less braindead to use than Nell if you wanna use him to _any_ effect at all, and it makes for some _satisfying_ punches above his weight class if you can pull it off...

Income only matters if it allows you to get a unit advantage. Turn based strategy heavily favors action economy. Money not being put to use is effectively wasted capitol. Flaks luck damage has a higher chance of happening the more units he has ready to attack. So having an army advantage heavily favors flak. Because all it takes is one strong hit to start a strong push. Flak also favors cheaper units because they can punch up much harder. Low Hp units are also dangerous as they too can punch harder allowing flak to be more aggressive. Flak is not a bad CO. Yes his abilities are random, but you can plan to take advantage of that randomness. You need to be flexible. While you can't plan for what takes the luck damage you can plan around taking advantage of it when it does.

A 5 HP infantry will deal almost nothing to a medium tank or any other vehicle even with super CO power IIRC. With full HP units though that's when you can take units to the cleaners with Flak CO power and super.

@@dark_rit Yep, both the target's defence and the attacker's lost HP mitigate the luck effect. Also remember that lost HP weakens terrain bonuses as well as the weapons' base attack strengths vs the units they can attack.

Well, yes and no. Getting a unit advantage is one thing an income advantage can do, pitting out extra battle copters or whatever. But another extremely useful thing it does is give you a tech advantage. Action economy is certainly a thing, being able to attack twice instead of once. But if a medium tank can do twice as much damage as a regualr tank, your still getting the same value each turn (assuming no overkill), you're able to wall break better, having to spend less terrain slots to shoot down an infantry and get to the important vehicles, and your walls are much stronger. That all being said, when adder was down 11 units to 20, the game was over. Joever, even. So joever it never even started, perhaps. Esspecially being down 2 comtowers versus flak.

Hard disagree, the problem is that many people read "ranked" as "you have to get to the top of the ladder" the idea behind a ranked system is that you get matched up with people of your skill. If you play the way you enjoy, you might not end up high on the list, but you end up in a rank with other people who play at your level, which is what you want to have interesting matches. And even if you want to get a high rating(which of course is appealing), if you're not having fun you will burn out and never stick around long enough to get good, so having fun is actually important for that as well. This is a game, not a second job.
