As soon as the robot said "retreat! Retreat!", I was struck with fear as soon as I faced this boss, God was it tough. You must be aware of the small corelings, the shots, and the special attack. Its too complex to handle for a basic player.

Honestly he takes like a good 10 hits to kill you if you got most the health upgrades. Not that bad of a fight, unless you're doing no health upgrades(took 55 tries for me, everything kills you in a single hit).

this actually is a final boss theme kinda it's originally what plays when fighting ironhead in ikachan, and [SPECULATION] likely would have been used for the ironhead fight in cavestory before it [STILL SPECULATION] was changed to be the core fight theme

I'm doing a Hard mode playthrough, and I was stuck on Monster X. Beat it and now I'm stuck on Core. I don't know if I'll ever beat that fucking thing

@@RandomRatPerson best way to beat Monster X: use level 3 Blade (you HAVE to have it level 3 so it does good damage, and hits a large area to destroy any fish missiles) and Bubbline as a kind of fleeing defense. First phase, blade, destroy the four bits from either below or to the side (I believe it did it from below, but it's been so long I forget) after the four parts are destroyed, stand under Monster X and spam the Blade, once it closes, either use Blade or Bubbline to clear a path and keep yourself safe. While Monster X is moving, keep as MUCH distance between yourself and it so you can focus on dealing with the fish missiles. Rinse and repeat until Monster X is dead. It may take a while and you'll have to get really good with your movement, but it can be done, and it feels great afterwards
