She is one of the most talented and beautiful actors in the world. Her performances are absolutely stunning. I can’t believe anybody said she was ugly. Prejudices blind people without boundaries. Pure evil and envy…period. Her complexion is stunning in any beauty standards. Her persona demands attention and it was too much for people to handle. It is sickening that people can be that evil with an innocent child. I glad she raise above all of them,

God bless you Viola, the sexualization, marginalization and expendability that society create around little black girls has to be addressed. We applaud you for your courage and selflessness in sharing.

Not society at large.... I live right over stateline in Mssissippi bordering Memphis coming from Los Angeles. I never hear my white friends talking about sexualizing black girls/women. It's the Hop Hop/Rap culture of both male and females. Look what haooened when black female artists finally starting to emerge. You don't get Billy Eilishes or Mariah Careys, you get Nicki Minaj* the name says enough. Megan the Stallion* another name and City Girls, Doja Cat list goes on.

Hi everyone, I don't know what happen to me. After I watched this interview and the Viola and Oprah Netflix episode, something happened within me that I can't explained. My soul opened up someway, somehow. I asked my dearly departed son Josh to help me grieve his passing gracefully, 2 days ago. I cried the ugly cry after hearing several passages of this book because I realized I wasn't the only one who've experience the abuse, bullyism, the pain. I preorder this book today and I will take my time reading when i am ready because i am in an very emotional state. Thank you my Josh.

I’m so proud of you Viola Davis and you will always be a great Black American 🇺🇸 actress just like Cysly Tyson, and Whoopi Goldberg.

@Ur Achalupa I’m so confused by your Statement, because when White Americans favors their Favorite White Americans actors and actresses that is not a problem, but for me to give praise to my favorite Black American actresses and and actors, and My favorite Black American 🇺🇸 actors are Sydney Poitey,Denzel Washington, and Chadwick Bossmen.May Chadwick Rest In Peace.My favorite White American actress are Julie Roberts Marrel Streat,Farrah Fawsett.May Farrah Rest In Peace.these people are excellent entertainers, but in this case they are known as Black Americans actors and actresses and White Americans actors and actresses, but I get what you are saying at the end of the day they are just HUMAN BEINGS, and if you want me to judge them like that then Cysley Tyson and Sydney poitey is the best actor and actress of all time to me,but I am sure you have your own opinion on who you think is the best actor and actress of all time.

@@maryjohnson5079Mary... luv, Viola Davis is a [ *Classically* *Trained* *Actress* ] graduated from #Juilliard - one of the world’s leading prestigious conservatoires - with all due respect to the two Icons you mentioned ! I absolutely love VIola's new book, "FInding Me", which I'm currently reading. It is a powerful story of sisterhood, of courage, and tenacity. She has opened my eyes to what it is like to be black, poor, and traumatized on a DAILY basis. She was a pretty child and grew into a beautiful woman. As difficult as her early beginnings were, she has self-actualized into a wise woman and role model for other young girls to look up to. Thank you Viola Davis for sharing your story! Jenny

I find Viola strikingly beautiful. It is sad to hear that she had been bullied most of her life to think otherwise. When we are young, we believe everything, especially other people’s opinions about ourselves. We are so vulnerable. We carry that the rest of our lives and it takes so much to spit it out of our system.
@edward66332 жыл бұрын
I mean, wow, wow, wow, "FINDING ME" is just "shockingly" mesmerising. This book is gold, and it takes us on a journey that we all can relate to to some degree, with every turn of each page involving us with an "appalling" truth being served to a courageous, creative and beautiful woman and her family. Viola Davis is an extraordinary spirit and human, so intense with her strong voice that one has to stop and listen. Between many tears cascading down my face and a sense of relief that she's ok now and that she found triumph, I just wanted to hug her and say, I am so sorry you had to endure all that. I can relate to some of your stories because I grew up in poverty too, but not to the extent you had to go through. And I've learned that failure has been my great success because I kept getting up and going. So thank you 🙏 For sharing your story.

First Viola starts off talking about colorism then she switches to beauty and attractiveness. I'm a little older than she is and let's face it, attractiveness AND unattractiveness comes in all shades. Everyone is not born 'pretty' so can we stop attributing it to skintone. Being poor can also factor into it. She talks about internalizing what those boys told her but what did her parents tell her other than to beat those boys up. Did THEY teach her about the richness and beauty of her complexion. THAT would have made a huge difference.

Viola's a brilliant actor, one of the best 'if not thee best' in many many decades I'd say. So, she'd do well to steer clear of Oprah. She's nothing more than an opportunist who uses other people's fame and platform to elevate her notoriety. If viola were as great as she is, but not as admired or well known... Oprah wouldn't touch her!
