Brooke has not lost any power, nor is she looking for power. She has a beautiful spirit, she doesn't want to be treated differently, she wants to be like everyone else..

Oprah just interrupted Brooke to give a little speech but I'm glad Brooke could pick her line of thought right back up. ❤
@fastlane17767 ай бұрын
I understand how you could have seen it that way. But if you know Oprah. It's not to "interrupt " but to empower the person speaking that they are TRULY being heard in that moment.. and to continue elaborate... which Brooke clearly did here.. . I wager if you ask those who were "cut off" by O in those moments.. They'd agree.. All love here. This was a great interview. Love that Brooke is stepping into her awesomeness ♥ 😊

1st, Oprah is looking incredible. More incredible than ever, and wearing it well. Then, Brooke is expressing what sounds like years of suppression potentially induced or put onto her as a false ideation that she shouldn't be proud of her successes & achievements. It seems as though her suppressed emotions are copying aspects of self hatred, almost to the extent of passive self harm yet having the 'foundation' of self-protection of down-playing an accolade of revelling in achievement. It is as though she was being subjected to oppositional behaviours, jealousy, almost psychological & emotionally abusive behaviours (externally) as a method of subdueing her from progress & enjoyment. This talk of engaging with feeling small from behaving that way and it becoming her is exactly that. I think maybe she's expressing the suppressed & yet verbalised abuses she suffered yet hadn't realised she was being subjected to. Whilst the Parenting part of life is extremely important, the suppressed endurance of subjected abuse creates a layer of behaviour beneath everyday life. Lovely seeing two such beautiful ladies share intelligent examples of life that others could learn from. Much love, Theresa 🙋♀️☯️

Yes Oprah looks good but it seems like she was trying to shame Brook 😞 but Oprah has had her own insecurities and announced to the world Brook was a child star with so many people in her life at such a young age. You will be fine Brook we who grew up with still admire and love you.

Astounding!!! Thank you, Brooke, for sharing. Your story brings back feelings and thoughts about how and why my mother always tried to control my wardrobe, my thoughts, my movements. Now I see it for what it was, her fears being projected onto me. Illuminating.

no Brook Shields's mom did the best she could with what she knew. She gave EveRyThing to Brooke she had. to give. Brooke's mom fell in love with Brooke at birth, she thought Brooke was a star at birth and did everything to make Brooke a star because Brooke was her everything. Brooke mom was an alcoholic, loved Brooke too much, did not have good mother and daughter boundaries but she was not a narcissist. Read Brooke's book about her mother.

I love how honest Brooke is being . I have been in and around fashion my entire adult life . female models are often in such odd space . Wanting to be liked by other woman , running into that beauty wall. often they will be really aloof or try so hard to be a regular girl. Life

Her mother screwed her up. Thrusting her into the spotlight from a child. Her mother was a "model" in her day but not to any esteem. Having a drunken stage Mom to please and protect took a heavy toll on Brooke. She has to act like her childhood was good while interviewers would ask all of these direct questions about her mother. So much was put on this kid it's shocking she is healthy and normal. Rip Teri Shields. Your kid is finally free!

I was never a fan of Oprah - she always interrupted her guests as though she was an expert on everything. But I lost all respect for her after the interview with Meghan Markle where she swallowed all the lies she was told about the Royal Family hook, line and sinker - remember how her voice rose a full octave?
