Love the videos! Ive been fly fishing for a few years and am really starting to get the hang of it. Started doing the pull back nymping egg patterns for great lake steelhead. Looking at getting an 11' switch rod 7wt. I seem to have a tough time with my 9ft 8wt in bigger water.

Love this. I was trying to figure out the "pull back" after hearing about it on a podcast with Jerry and this was a great demonstration Ed!

I’d love to spend a day on the water with this guy. Just an encyclopedia of fishing knowledge. I’ve learned countless things from his videos over the years. And it all works!

I've been doing this mend almost exclusively since I started 2 handing lol. Not because I am good either but because I can't aerial mend and I suck at mending in water.

Goran Andersson I know sense 1980 we meet at our home river here in Sweden 🇸🇪 He did invent the underhand cast in late 1950s the day we meet he fish a half Sentificanglers wet cel sink 3 that's how he did it before the Scandinavian lines came. For the one who not know! Best regards from Sweden 🇸🇪

What line weight of your Pure Skagit rods do you recommend for pike fishing 6 to 8 inch streamers? Usually I´m using #9 and #10 single hand rods. Thanks guys!
@OPSkagit2 жыл бұрын
Depending on the length of the rod, the 9wt would take a 300-325grn Commando and the 10wt a 325-350grn.
@FlyFishingChronicles2 жыл бұрын
@@OPSkagit Ah ok. So my SH 9 weight is a 350 grn rod so I have to take the 10wt rod in your line up to be able casting the same streamer I usually fish on my 9 weight (350grn line SA Titan taper line) right?

why cast to 5 or 7 o'clock and then pull back line only to lose distance gained? cast to 3 or 9, where it's not immediately under tension, to give it sink time...w/o loss of distance
@OPSkagit Жыл бұрын
It's a setup process prior to getting into the "zone".
