It seems insane how willing people are to put hundreds or even thousands of dollars into vehicles but are so hesitant to put money into their human vehicles! Our bodies do all the hard work, why not get fine tune and work even better then thought imagined!

If the costs/pricing were more transparent (upfront), there may be a quicker 'buy-in' for the masses (like me). I will do more research before spending $700 on this. How easy is it to export my data from this service?

Thanks for reviewing this. The costs are probably too expensive for the masses. I'd probably wait at least 1 year before getting retested.

Thank you for the review. I know the additional screenings for the DNA and the inner age were jacking the price up, but the ultimate test price being $400 I feel is a great value. I do agree the results that come back are very very superficial. I did have a problem with them not wanting to make any assertions based on the nutrition studies, that's kind of why I thought they were in business because they had all the information. So I lose value there. Thank you for letting us know about the DNA being just an extra cost for no real reason.

Thank you much for the candid record of inside tracker. One question does the ultimate test check all my nutrition values? You mentioned a few like vitamin D however does it test for all the other vitamins and minerals?

Hi Dr. Lara, I just recently found out about your channel and I already love it! :) Having heard multiple times about Inside Tracker (for example on Dr. Huberman's and Dr. Sinclair's podcast) and being really interested in personalized medicine, I would love to give it a try... The only problem is that I live in Italy 😅 I was wondering if you knew of anything similar that would be available here, similar projects or labs that focused on using data to improve lifestyle choices... Thank you very much in advance for your answer! :)

Very insightful and helpful video Dr. Lara! I'm curious if you have any thoughts on how InsideTracker compares to ZOE since you've used both and have had positive experiences with them (other than high cost of these platforms).
@Nourishable
@Nourishable 3 жыл бұрын
Good question - in many ways it depends on what kinds of habit changes you're hoping to make. InsideTracker uses a fasting blood sample, whereas the ZOE test measures your postprandial response to carbs and fats. While many of the InsideTracker biomarkers can be assessed in blood tests as part of a physical (though some you'd probably need to specifically request and maybe pay extra for depending on insurance), the dynamic responses that ZOE tests for (fat response in particular) are unique from what you could get from a doctor's office. More research is mounting that these postprandial responses are an essential contributor to our health outcomes since we tend to eat so frequently throughout the day that we're in this postprandial state most of the time. As a ZOE user, I really liked how my microbiome, carb response, and fat response were all integrated together in a program that taught me how to make better food choices for me and how to put together meals that would be best for my metabolism. On the other hand, the ZOE product focuses solely on diet whereas InsideTracker also gives evidence-based recommendations for supplements, lifestyle, and physical activity - so if you're looking for insight beyond food then IT it could be your best bet. You'll also want to consider how much time/energy you're willing in investing in the actual testing process, since InsideTracker just involves going to a clinic for a blood sample whereas the ZOE test is more involved with eating muffins, collecting multiple samples on a very specific schedule, and food tracking. Long winded, but I hope that helps!
@rtsang17

@@Nourishable Not longwinded at all! In fact, this answers all my questions and more so thank you very much for taking the time! I’ll be doing IT first though I may try ZOE later on as well to further refine my diet. P.S. Your other videos are super helpful too and I will be subscribing - look forward to your new posts!

Seems very similar to a blood test that you can ask your doctor to do with bloodwork. Don't see anything in this test that is worth the high price when you can have you insurance cover labs! Inner age is cool but not at the high price tag.
@littlevoice_11

True. It's just a shame that the doctors lab results aren't accompanied by more guidance on what the results really mean for longevity and overall health. Doctors seem to only prescribe medicine or dietary changes if someone is fully clinically deficient/abnormal. Sub clinical markers are often very important too

@@littlevoice_11 yes they do not supply additional info but its very easy to look each test up online and then you can look to see how to change the results in each way. Also I've used this book called "your blood dosen't lie" it has all blood tests, what they mean and interpret results but since there is a variation ranges you have to make sure you pay attention to the units used. But its so interesting! I've have 4 sets of bloodwork done about every 5 years and I comb through my results, and keep them all logged in a book.

What are your thoughts on the best macro ratio for anti aging? Also what do you think about the muscle growth vs mTor tradeoff when one has a higher protein diet e.g. 100g per day (plant based protein)?

Please can you do a video on the best diet for emphysema (most conventional advice from doctors is aimed at those who are frail and need to gain weight but none looks at weight loss or maintenance or macros fasting for autophagy or anti inflammatory foods, foods that enhance oxygen transfer and reduce co2 production etc)

Does Dr Patrick's review and ideas about broccoli sprouts and sulforiphane relate to this issue? I know she seemed adament about being helpful for smokers.
@littlevoice_11
@littlevoice_11 2 жыл бұрын
@@jlmur54 not specifically lung tissue but many organs in general. She does talk about sauna, glutathione, NAC and activation of heat shock proteins as well as anti inflammatory effects of fasting to improve metabolic health, mitochondrial function and overall CVS. This would suggest that the mechanisms at a cellular level have a systemic effect which could influence lung function. Dr Patrick does have some work on CVD, I wonder if Peter Attia and also the Metabolic Health Summit may also have some useful content

Arent’t whole Grains bad now?
@Nourishable
@Nourishable 3 жыл бұрын
Nope - there's a really large literature base of consistent data showing that people who replace refined grains with whole grains are healthier are on a bunch of different measures like reduced GI-tract cancers, cardiovascular disease and all-cause mortality - reduced risk of dying, I'll take that please! Bonus that they're also delicious :)

Yawn… if it was $50 maybe.
