The reason people were upset about Optimus was because Optimus in the cartoons is the nice guy that does kill but isn't saying crazy stuff like I'll kill you all and killing people begging for their life. He is supposed to like humanity and be hopeful. I'm personally not a transformer fan so the way Optimus was portrayed doesn't bug me and was really fun but fans of the series had a reason to be upset totally different dude.

The personality is what makes a character there actions are cool and can be a big part of there identity but how they act is what makes them unique. Cartoon Optimus simply doesn't act like movie Optimus. Now there is an argument that the cartoon Optimus needs to be more ruthless because it doesn't make since for him to be acting like a saint in live action but that is not the point.

Michael Bay films changed what Prime stood for. In the shows , games and animated films we wanted peace first above all without giving place to Megatrons tyranny. He did come to grips that he had to kill during the war , and usually he tried to kill megatron off the bat but then realized that he’s harder to kill and the deception cause wouldn’t care if megatron died. But did try to look for a solution first that didn’t requiere death. In the words of the voice actor a leader that was strong enough to be gentle. Meanwhile Michael bay prime wanted to end the war, regardless if that meant destroying all deceptions or not, as it had gone to far. He never once tried to talk with the deceptions and although it makes sense , it still just seemed that he was more of the ultimate warrior more so that an great leader who can go toe to toe with Megatron. Megatron is the best cybertronian warrior. So it’s not out of place to say that Michael bay prime actions were out of character , it just the intent in comparison to that of the countless other iterations of prime mostly g1 prime that off put many fans just like myself.

Gotta remember, we only see the final years of the war. And Prime only gives up on negotiating with the Decepticons in film 2 because he realized that “they will never stop at one” planet. Prime very likely would have been down for negotiations years before the films took place. The war had been going on for millions of years.

The main criticism when it comes to Michael Bay. He always does big-budget things that's easier catch of the person's attentions that's why he's known for being the explosion guy. And honestly I feel like Transformers only get shot because of that because it is right in his Avenue. Because if you watch four examples like Corridor crew who breaks down via effects and just how things are shot they talk about how actually good it's directed inshot for the act action sequences and others shot

Real quick. Regarding what Scru said about movie reviewers saying "Oh this scene has too much blur." If you think this is a legitimate criticism of a fight scene, you've probably never been in a real fight before or even punched. Because sometimes that's what it's like. Either you get hit so hard that your vision starts to blur or you're witnessing the fight and both people are moving nearly fast enough to create a blur. As long as it's not to extreme and it feels like you're wearing glasses with defective lens.

The main reason people hate on movie prime is because OG prime was more of a superman kinda character. With great power, but he always holds back for the greater good. His means of mauling characters and decepticons in the bayverse films kinda tarnishes his brotherhood that the autobots had with the decepticons in the old days, since they were not always enemies. This makes more sense when you see in TF1, where Prime did indeed kill Bonecrusher since he killed innocent people and he had to stop him from going on a rampage, but he couldn't bring himself to go all out against Megatron, whom he once considered like a brother, and still often calls him as such in many forms of media. In that regard, it all comes together to make it hard to see Optimus be so upfront and brutal, as we get that he's very pissed, but him losing composure in EVERY SINGLE BATTLE? It kinda just...feels a little off for the hero right? It would probably be better if Prime had a Build up to this darker characterization arc, but he just all of a sudden got super rage-induced in every film and incredibly bent on killing his enemies brutally and en masse. It feels too much like he's a hero who's corrupted by grief to the point of psychopathy, when that is in NO way anything to do with his characterization in most other forms of media, though I will say, "Most" and not "all". I much like bayverse prime's badassery, but you have to remember that EVERY optimus prime could technically do the same exact things that Bayverse prime does, they just choose not to and play super fair. Yes, it's a little slow to do something like that in a movie where pace has to be kept, so that might be why he's so violent, to keep things interesting. That's the premise of all bay films, flashy and eye catching.

I always find it crazy how dudes sleep on Batman during an invasion scenario. If anyone is gonna minimize casualties and organize the squad its him. If anyone gonna clutch a necessary dub its the Man of Bats. When Darkseid attacked Themyiscara Batman with a Battleaxe was bodying the Doomsday clones, when White Martians clapped the league Batman gave them the business with a couple matches. Batman bullied Darkseid to let Supergirl go free. Absolute menace, and for all the people who bring up the Joker and how he's still living, where was Superman and Wonder Woman when he became a League opp and and put Batman in a death loop. They all let that man live. Batman being merciful dont mean he isnt HIM for real.

The reason why this got so much hate Things got constantly cond Plot was inconsistent Movies always had no real stakes Mindless movie violence shown done by relatively goofy characters (within the show they are goofie and silly but that changed) This is prob the dumbest reason but ( the extreme tension and militaristic direction of the movies, people didn’t like the fact that the transformers were gritty space aliens who go through an actual brutal war, they expected goofie characters to slap each other around for a full 60 minutes, the reason I say it’s the dumbest is because, they are literally at war for centuries and you expect them not to have some sort of lack of remorse, I mean how would you react if your brother decided nah imma shoot you cause you don’t want to take over the universe with me, matter of fact imma shoot your other friends too. So summary First movie pretty much the perfect one (as good as you can get with these movies) Second was a huge downturn Third a huge up turn Fourth (we don’t talk about the continuation cause it’s just @$$ )
