I remember my jaw dropped when I watched this on Toonami. Watched goku for months fighting Frieza and watched Trunks do it in a few clean hits like it was nothing. Truly one of my favorite anime characters of all time. Love how much you know about Trunks lore, too!

That is why even though Gohan is still my favorite character, I always loved Future Trunks, plus Xenoverse and Xenoverse 2 making their Trunks just be Future Trunks doing community service for messing with the timeline was a great move in my mind especially whan he tried to save Future Gohan despite knowing it could erase him from existence in the second game

You made the point about Batman, and I agree it would be boring if Batman only fought Joker, but part of what makes Batman great is that Joker comes back. I don't remember everything that day, but the day I saw this fight on Toonami was the day I became a true anime fan boy. Nothing more raw than watching a hated villain drop in the course of a few attacks. Also learned about DBZ power scaling issue at the same time 😆 Edit. I do feel that Frieza rant though. Toriyama wrote a very awesome late-stage villain that ended up getting rolled rather early on in the series. And everything after was just chasing that same fire from then on. I like me some Golden Frieza as a concept, but at some point you have to swap out antagonists and move on.

Ayy scru you right about everything you said but forgot one detail.....sadly people on the dragon ball team want $$$ they not too concerned with well written story or villians. Freeza, Cell and Zamasu/Goku Black are the best villains in dragon ball franchise simple as that, honestly he not a villain but hit is a good character up there too not in terms of villain stuff but he's unique and as a character has cool abilities and motivation.....an assassin for money he usually takes no sides unless it involves his survival (even though interacting with Goku changed him a bit)
