How do you successfully tune your A up to a C# without breaking it?

@@SPscorevideos I've been trying to play these an octave down on the viola using some really whack scordatura of my own. I can't say it's a _total_ failure XD.

@@WilliamFord972 You transposed everything a fifth down, and then applied scordature... Seems very close to rocket science. :D

@@SPscorevideos For example, I'm working on Sonata #2, so I tuned my C-G-D-A (A440) down to A2-E3-A3-E4 (but at A415). I'm a dork.

Gut strings are flexible enough at the calibre of 0,84 for A string to tune till C#. You may use 0,78 since tuning a major 3rd augments string's tension, a smaller string will not stress the violin top too much.
