I’m watching this video after the fact of watching the one where you said you left the OR. So when the question came up about how to deal with disgruntled surgeons, I was trying to figure out if it was ok to ask them if they had such surgeons there. 😂 Like, why is that a question to me and you’re not dealing with them? It’s called professional conduct, and when you’re asking me such questions, it leads me to believe you permit such behavior. It wasn’t the typical how do deal with conflict when it comes to another coworker. She said DISGRUNTLED. 😂 That’s beyond conflict

New grad here- interviewed for two OR residencies and I prepped SO much for the interviews. Both were shockingly short and to the point. Both asked these 1. Tell me about yourself 2. Why do you want to work in the OR 3. Have you dealt with angry surgeons/ how One of them asked why they should hire me over another candidate. THATS IT. SOOOO SHORT. I precepted in the OR my last semester of my BSN though and completed over 216 hrs, not sure if that affected my interview questions/length.
@luvnurseb55522 жыл бұрын
I dont think it affected the length/questions but you definitely would probably be more likely to get the job because of your practicum experience. Good luck! Hope u get the job🙂

I will graduate in two months I was wondering what on call nurse means please
@luvnurseb55523 жыл бұрын
Ok so on call means that you will get called in for a case if needed. For example, the OR is generally closed on weekends and holidays, meaning there are no "scheduled" cases. When you are on call, you are at home, but you may get called in to come in to work if an urgent/emergency case comes in(i.e ectopic pregnancy, ruptured appendix etc) When you get called in for an "on call" shift, it is usually paid time and a half. After the case is done, you go back home and hope you dont get called in again. You are on call for a specific time though, so it could be 12 hour or 24 hours.
