Something my pathology teacher always made sure to differentiate was traumatic and Apthous. Traumatic has white boarder with red center (due to the body trying to protect itself with keratinized tissue, hence the white boarder), and apthous has red boarder with white center. So my understanding is that your picture of traumatic ulcer is actually an apthous ulcer.

really informative

That's a nice description, but not always true! The one in this video is in fact a traumatic ulcer.

Thank you for your videos . But melanotic macule should be considered as devlopmental condition since it occurs by it self not in reaction

Can a amalgam tattoo show up years after dental work? I was just diagnosed with one but I haven’t had work done in over 10 years on that side thank you:)
@mentaldental2 жыл бұрын
Good question! They tend to appear within days to weeks following the procedure to place or remove an amalgam restoration. However, it is possible that it has been there for some time and only recently has been discovered!

Hello Ryan. Love your Chanel !! I have a question regarding this video. Is it the dentifric asociated sloughin a removable lesion if we rub it with a gauze?
@mentaldental4 жыл бұрын
Good question. While you may be able to rub off the "sloughed" layer, that will likely leave a tender, erythematous base behind. This will eventually heal itself, but something to keep in mind!

Can't tell the difference between nicotine stomatitis and Fordyce granules
@Khushi_sitapara2 жыл бұрын
in nictonine stomatitis you will see the red inflammed gland opening on the palatal mucosa due to smoking whereas inflammation is absent in fordyce granules

Thank you for posting! Are any of these pathologies appear on NBDE 1?
@mentaldental6 жыл бұрын
Good question! While NBDE 2 focuses more heavily on it, there is a good chance you will see some oral pathology questions on NBDE 1 especially the Microbiology section.
