KZbin just recommended me a video of an orange frame imploded to pieces lol

I saw that too. Orange’s response was disappointing to say the least.

I actually dig the way it looks but the single pivot, the parts spec and the price make it a no go. The video mentioned a few times in the comments does not give me confidence in Orange’s after sales support, either.

I love the simplicity of the Orange. I still have my Mountain Cycle San Andreas that I bought in 1996. If you want to make that fork great, put a Marzocchi coil kit into it.

I own a Switch 7 and absolutely love it. I know load of people hate the look of an Orange but I really like them…I actually think they look better in real life. I got the bike on sale so it actually ended up being a ‘good’ deal (whatever that means in the MTB world now a days) I just can’t get over the spec of the Switch 6 for the price. If boutique brand, made in England is your think you can get a Cotic Rocket Max with top end rock shox suspension, hope wheel, xt drivertrain, magura breaks with EXO+ casing maxxis tyres for just a smidge over £5000

That production process has a lot of potential but they seam to live in the past and rather put out another niche bike than improve there process and looks

I love Orange bikes. I’ve had about four. They ride magnificent in the Midwest. However, their pricing has gone out of control. I understand they are handmade. Obviously. Maybe they should spend some time developing their production process to help lower their prices and increase their margins.

I've owned many Orange bikes over the years (going back as far as my first proper mountain bike in 1998) and also being from West Yorkshire myself, I've always held Orange in high regard. I don't own a modern Orange currently, but I'm on all the owners groups and I can tell you straight, I WILL NEVER BUY an Orange ever again!!! Other than the recent high profile frame brake everyone already knows about, people are having issues with cracked/snapped frames left right and centre, ovalized headtubes and all sorts. Orange appear to have lost their values along the way when it comes to customer service too. So many declined warranty claims and bad service stories going around at the moment. Their pricing is an absolute joke too. I was sad when they had all the layoffs last year and things were looking really positive for them when they got new investment and moved premises, but rather than rising out of the ashes like a phoenix, they seem worse than they were before. Damn shame.

Once again Orange over pricing and under speccing. Sorry Orange but how are you still going 🤦

It’s hard to argue with the value of some other brands. That said, the workmanship to produce one of these is not in doubt!

It's like Chromag my favorite boutique brand, you don't get a "deal" you encourage the local community & economy it's more of a spiritual thing; When your wife bashes you with a stick you can pray. 😅

@@LaurentiusTriariusyeah but I’d also argue that Chromag is higher quality all around. Even their Taiwanese made stuff looks amazing. I think Orange is great but still a step behind Chromag

I was just watching a guy on KZbin riding a downhill version of this that basically broke in 1/2 on local downhill race in Silvermountain. Orange didn't help him out and wanted him to take down the video, crazy bad customer service. I would never buy one of these ancient single pivot designs, also very ugly.

Happy we could clarify. Our frame did not fail, if it had we would have certainly disclosed that info. In fact, we're pretty certain that every single bike we've ever ridden has imploded, cracked or broken under some rider, somewhere in the world. What seems to make the difference however, is that it seems Orange has upset some vocal people with their support and handling of such failures, which is certainly worth noting...
