I just got one yesterday. It might be the best amp I’ve ever played. It does it all, and really well. I knew the dirt was going to sound good, but the clean channel is right up there with Fender cleans, I was shocked
@dryanbuchanan Жыл бұрын
@@CARLOSVSCARLOShow does it do mid gain crunch rock stuff? Is it more for metal?
@CARLOSVSCARLOS Жыл бұрын
@@dryanbuchanan I don’t have it anymore lol, because I got a killer deal on an OR50, which is a different sound altogether, but the TH30 is definitely heavier than what I have now. I’m not a metal guy, but I’d imagine it does a great job. I sold it to a metal player who was way into it. It’s heavy, like way heavy when you turn the gain up to around past 11 o’clock, like so much more than I’d ever use (as more of a classic rock gain and less guy). But it’s also really versatile, as you turn it up through all the gain stages, it does everything in between really well. I loved that amp, it was only a question of what I specifically wanted in an amp that I chose the OR50 in place of it, but the TH30 was capable of crazy chugging. I owned a dual rectifier too, and it could do that level (not the same sound, but the same, if not more gain) gainy stuff that the Mesa did. I think it’s honestly a great amp, no matter the style, and I think any metal player would love it, if I had to guess. It’s badass

Just getting interested in Orange. Trying the Terror 15 but find the ‘natural’ channel way too dark to really use, a clean boost helps a lot. So naturally I’m concerned here with only a ‘shape’ knob for tuning the dirty channel. Why couldn’t they spring for just one more knob!?!?
@nathanward38884 жыл бұрын
I use a clean boost with treble and bass controls in the loop on my Brent Hinds Terror to brighten the natural channel up. Works like a charm. I rarely ever use the clean though, now that I tuned my Swollen Pickle to work amazingly with the dirty channel. I don't play any real cleans, and typically only used the clean channel on my previous Blackstar for my channel to use muff style fuzz on. the Orange is the first amp I have found that will sound great running a fuzz on the dirty channel.

Hey dude! Two questions. Can you tell me what position on the cab you placed your SM57 in this video? Also, how close was the back of the cab to the wall(how much “breathing room” did the open back of the cab have, essentially)? Love your recorded tones here.
@TobysGuitarGearDemos Жыл бұрын
Hey! That Orange PPC212V cab with neo cream backs really suits these amps. Mic would have been where the dust cap meets the cone. I’ve found that works best on most speakers. The edge of the mic will just be lined up with where the dust cap ends, then the rest of the mic is on the cone. Distance wise - if you lay your hand flat on the table it’s 3 fingers widths away from the amp (around 5cms). This is just to reduce the proximity effect. If you want more chunk than this move the mic closer to the cab 👍 in terms of being away from the wall it’s close to the fake wall thing I have but that’s super thin, behind that there’s a gap of about 2 foot before the outer wall. I find the room only makes a difference when you really crank it, you can get more low end when it’s nearer a corner of the room but it’s only really heard if you use room mics 👍
@robjohnson5829 Жыл бұрын

I think it would have been ran in 4 tube mode unless otherwise said. No post EQ on the SM57 apart from high pass at 70Hz. I may have used a stereo room pair of ribbons to supplement the 57 although it would of been very low, literally just to add that sense of room sound 👍

@@alastairwilson8245 that’s a bummer. I was really looking into purchasing this myself. It’s hard to tell which amp sounds good in person as it does on KZbin and it sucks cause sometimes it’s hard to play stuff before buying. What amp are you playing now ?

Idk what kind of tones yall were dialing in, I played one in a store today and sounded even better than YT

@@PHELCAN I think when people are struggling to get a decent sound out of an amp like this, it's rarely the amp's fault, tbh ;)

recommend over the OR15 for home and small gig??? same 212v...

TH30 goes much louder clean and has 2 channels. TH30 is more modern sounding whilst OR15 is vintage voiced. Both great options just different 👍

Orange or Marshall, can't make up my mind. I tend to play with alot of gain pedals and low tunings.

Si le das más de la mitad de volumen al canal limpio te satura y es imposible que te suene "clean" y fuerte 😕

So... How about th30 vs th100?
@trendkill33335 жыл бұрын
Don’t buy this unless you don’t have neighbours. It is extremely loud

or just get an attenuator
@Walkerbjj3 жыл бұрын
even with the volume low its too loud for an apartment?
@Tony784323 жыл бұрын
@@Walkerbjj I have an OR15 even in it’s 7 Watt setting I can’t play with the volume knob past 7 o’clock. That’s basically the first notch. I’d imagine this amp is just as loud if not louder. 3rd party attenuators are a solution but they’re so expensive

My fav amp I ever owned but man was it built like shit. Used to gig with it regularly and itd always break down so after the last time I just didnt fix it and its been collecting dust since. Got a crush head instead and although it doesnt come close in tone it never gave me a problem.
