It’s very isometric. I think it was a huge improvement in cities:skylines that roads could be curved and that it wasn’t restricted to grids. Same in W&R:SR. I’m a little surprised to see so many new games are restricted to grid building.

Bit of a bummer that this game, like everyone of its city builder predecessors, also forces you to build a North American style Euclidian zoning car centric gridhell.....Otherwise I like this concept. I've found out myself a few days ago that the residents, unlike in Cities Skylines for instance, don't complain about 'noise' when you build mixed zoning like that. So I was thrilled and kept mixed the 2 zones so the traffic wouldn't be ludicrous. Residents in this game are generally LESS inclined (for some reason) to walk vs. drive, even if the store is not 1 block away...kinda irritating, makes more traffic lol. It's really nice too when you unlock the actual new mixed zoning use of C on the 1st floor and R on the floors above it.

This game seems like it leans heavily on reductionist notions regarding the political/economic spectrum. The whole _"left vs right"_ shorthand is more or less fine when you're talking about social values, but when you introduce other metrics like size/type of government or economy, demographics, law, etc. it becomes woefully inadequate due to being over binary. Like, what if I want to build an economically socialist society that rejects capitalism and the use of central banks, but I don't want it to be communist, and I want it to be socially traditional with private property and gun rights still intact, with the government issuance of a value-based currency instead of fiat? That's not rightwing or leftwing. It's third positional. I doubt this game lets you do that, and if it does, the in-game language would sort of confuse things.
