Bambu Slicer is open source as it is built on a fork of Prusa Slicer, which is built on a fork of Slic3r.

Hi. Ah ok, that makes sense. It must be just some of the bambu features that are not open source. Thanks for the info.

@@3DPrintscape Since it is linked into the code from Prusa Slicer (which is based on Slic3r, that makes ALL the code they add "open source" (in reality GPL)...Licensing and "GPL is complicated, but as long as you follow the rules of the licensing, it all is A-OK. So Orca references Bamboo, since that is what is their "parent", but Bamboo's "parent" is Prusa, whose "parent" is Slic3r...it's a complex family tree!

How do we get the PLA to stop the plastic coming out before it prints, I had the code for Cura but not for Orca Slicer any help would be brilliant thanks.

Hi. You should be able to add the gcode to the start like you do in cura. I havent actually done it though, havent had a need.

I have a ender 3 v3. But its not in the list of printers. There only is a SE and KE. What would you suggest to do?
@3DPrintscape7 ай бұрын
Hi. The V3 is a coreXZ printer and runs klipper, the other two are not. I would look to see if they have any of the k series in there with the same board to use as a starting point.

Thanks. i'm gonna have a look at it later today.

Wish you could do one on how to setup orca with klipper that has 4 printer instances on it . This works with 1 printer but cannot get it to work the 4 rpinters using klipper

Hi, i will see what i can do. Im guessing you will need to specify the port number for the other instances when connecting.

Is there no option to change nozzle size for an Ender 3 Pro? I looked at the Bambu Slicer and that only showed .4mm whereas I run a .6mm. That said, I didn’t dig too deeply after installing it as just being offered a .4mm option put me right off!
@3DPrintscape10 ай бұрын
Hi. You have to create a custom printer to change that (there may be other options but not that i saw). So under the printer section, click the drop down and choose create printer.

Perfect, makes sense when you think about it, thank you

I "had" and I say HAD because my printer is a Tronxy XY 2 pro printer but..... I have replaced everything on it, is just the frame as a Tronxy. Actually it is a printer with Makerbase Nano Robin 3.1 electronics and TFT screen with E3d v6 extruder and so on. It works fine in CURA even the USB files reading and WIFi to send files, everything is absolutely fine with proximity sensor and glass bed. I have heard a lot about Orca Slicer as the best of the best but I have a little problem that really is a huge problem: the printer does not print!. Starts, home, does all Gcode start routine, the heat for nozzle and bed are at the printing level but nothing happens. Maybe someone to guide me to solve this "little incident"? I like Orca, looks very practical for the simplicity to calibrate the printer , they even considered MKS and the Wifi works perfectly sending the files. Hope I can use it.

Hi. it sounds like there may be an issue with the start gcode section. Did you have to modify that at all in cura?
