Happy to heard about the updates, specially on dendrobium phalaenopsis. It's because i just purchase a purple hapinesss and it's in the condition like your blue happiness was. Now after repoting it, i just hope she can survive in my care. Wish me luck. Love your videos so much and thanks for all the information you share with us.

+Rekha Dutta Thanks for the tip, however I am not sure how much sun I can give them since they are in a sw location.. maybe only outside is brighter :)) I filmed at 8 am though, that is not the light they mostly have, maybe that's why it seems shady.

Phal species are my favorite also. Can you make a detailed video about your lighting? I like it a lot.

Dannnniiiii, Hi. :) I like getting updates. I'd really like to see how your Tolumnias are doing, aren't they supposed to start blooming soon? I recently got some and I had no idea that they thrive (or were from the Tropics !!!). Went to an orchid show and they had three species and no pictures of the blooms, so it's a game of luck and chance for me. Happy Growing

Heating mat ! Not a bad idea. Just keep us informed. In winter time which is the temperature rate in your greenhouse. And one more question. My Dends phalaenopsis get black spots on both old and new leaves (old and new canes). But surprisingly my velvet melody bloomed for me (I leave in Athens Greece) in September. Thank you.

Saw videos on semi hydroponics for cymbidium. Will give it a go. Maybe you have enough sun and heat on your balcony for them.

I really like these update videos, thanks :) . I've got an update for one of my orchids which I'm really excited about. I have a Herr Alexander (I think, I will @ you on twitter with a photo because i would like to show you). When I purchased it there were no roots left and for ages it did nothing. it attempted a second pseudo bulb but it died off sadly. Suddenly its decided to grow another new pseudo bulb. It has done really well producing roots and some how it now putting out 3 flowers. I'm so pleased its coming back and seemingly doing well. I wanted to know... do you think i should let it mature all three flowers??

Hi sweetie.I have several orchids that have produced spikes (phelanopsis, and zygos) with lots if buds but the stems grew quite short. The plants and roots look ok though. Any advice? I live in the Isle of Wight,UK.thank you.

Hi, Dani. I have a question.. I want to try out semi hydro but I am just starting and don~t want to mess up my newly bought plants. I live in Brazil and noticed that many trees in my area have orchids naturally growing on them. Some of them are really really old so it looks like a huge bush on the tree trunk. And they are full of keikis. I was thinking of getting some and practicing on them ))) Do you think, a wild plant has a chance in semyhidro:?
@walterjfrancis297 жыл бұрын
Hi !!! I'm not Danni. I appreciate your question though. Why not try both with some of the orchids you have plenty of? Like side by side? Some in semi-hydro and some the other way? And then give us some updates :) You can so so on the Orchaholics page on facebook. It's global and easy to share there.

Hi Dani, I grow orchids, but not very well. What kind of "soil" you use for your orchid? Your videos looks like you use some brown pebbles. Where I can get it. Appreciated it you let me know. Thanks.

She has videos on certain orchids that might help you with finding a good medium, and she probably has a few videos on medium. You can find orchid medium in garden stores or online. Right now Dani is using a medium called Licca? Lecca? I don't know but she's stated that it's sold more locally, rather than online. Your best bet would be bark chips, good starter medium, cheap, readily available.

Den-phal the easiest easiest orchid around,but to bloom them,I thinks it's little tricky,and your bellina,do you use leaf shine to it,say true,his leaves are so so glossy??

They are the hardiest in my climate. And Im from the Caribbean. Apparently they aren't so well in colder climates. They like sun and warmth and water all year around
